In my opinion, many(not all) younger (20 somethings)adults would blow it on partying and "life in the fast lane."
Older people who are more settled tend to be more grounded and responsible, in my opinion.
I extended it to 35 for good measure. - Time to build more character!
When I was 16 I thought I was so mature and thought I knew all that I needed to know. The younger me may even have been offended by the older me stating that I am less then thrilled when a really young adult wins.
Now that I'm older and well educated, I have come to the conclusion that I actually know very little!
I don't think it's really fair to say that. While I do know some idiots that are in their 20s, I also know some middle aged idiots as well. How about we get rid of the age bias and just agree that we don't wanna see anyone win that is financially irresponsible.
I'm 22 and would first of all take the annuity, just because if something happened and I did screw up, I get another shot. Second, I would take roughly 80% of the first years annuity payment and invest it in low risk investments like CD's and whatnot. Then for future years I would do my best to live off the interest of said low risk investments while investing more aggressively with the rest of the annuity payments.
But at 22 years old I also have 3 years into a good job making 45,000+ a year, I'm married, and have two step kids. So I guess I'm not really your average 22 year old, but still. The generalization of young people as irresponsible is something that really grinds my gears. Lol.

It's none of my business who wins it. Personally I don't care who wins it. If Donald Trump won it I would simply laugh. It doesn't matter who wins it because it's all going back into the system one way or another. If someone who doesn't know how to handle money wins it, so what, it just means that the money will go back into the system faster than if someone who knew how to handle it. But in the end it doesn't matter. No one person is more deserving than the next guy/gal...The exception is if someone somehow scammed the system and found a way to cheat to win it...

I'd have been upset if someone from Utah won on a ticket they purchased in Idaho. I already see too many of them winning our big scratchoffs and games like WildCard.

Wouldn't you rather see a welfare recipient win and get off welfare funded by taxpayers than a multimillionaire or billionaire?
How do you feel about foreigners winning then?
Actually I'd like to see a hard working blue collar married couple with children win powerball. Someone who has been busting their ass to make ends meet. If anyone deserves a break, its people like that.
