Evertime you eat meat, you are going to a funeral.Crying

Humans would not have developed the brain it now has if the ancestors of humans had not started eating meat.

Meat was very important for the brain to develop.

I was raised to hunt, fish, trap, track, grow, freeze and can food.

Everything you mentioned my wife's father did in order to support and feed his family. My father in law also offers a charter boat service and still does taxidermy to this day. With a lot of mouths to feed they had to do all they could to provide for their family and I believe this builds a lot of perseverance and character in a person which certainly applies to you as well. Thumbs Up

People from all walks of life play the lottery.

Lower income people play for a chance at life changing amounts and higher income people play since you just can't have "too much money."

It's a low cost to pay for a big dream. You can't win if you don't play!

Exactly!  And our investments into retirement are not even guaranteed to make money and many of them only increase in value gradually.  Besides, if you don't waste your money on smoking, drinking or other vices, then you should feel less pressure on buying a lottery ticket or two.  There are zero guarantees in anything you do.

So true Gator, its entertaining at times for me just playing the lotery.

We could all win the lottery today!

That's how you have to look at it.  It just surprises me the number of winners that are just random lottery players that buy a few lines on a whim and tuck their ticket somewhere in their car to find out that they are multi-millionaires overnight.  I don't think the Robinsons were true lottery players but rather were caught up in the hype and bought one line that changed their lives forever (for better and worse).  We can only hope that one day we can get even a small piece that some of these recent winners have been fortunate enough to be blessed with in their lives.  Just enough to take care of my family and not have to worry and allow my dad to retire.

The Robinsons would not have won had Lisa Robinson NOT called her husband to remind him to stop and buy tickets. He wasn't feeling well and wasn't going to get, but because she called, he stopped. He purchased 4 tickets. One to represent each member of his family. The rest is history.

I thought for some reason that they just bought one line.  Makes me feel better when I splurge and get a couple/several lines for a draw.

I bet the Robinsons have a copy of that moment as well. It is the moment that forever changed their lives!

I wouldn't say that. Just like all walks of life that frequent the casino. We just want to win some money. Was that Paul Newman in the movie The Color of Money, that said "money won is sweeter than money earned" or something like that.

Can you imagine what is going through the lady's mind who had just bought her ticket right before him? they were chatting as he waited for the clerk to give him his ticket and change. This highlights "being in the right place at the right time".
