The subject of repeaters had prodded me into doing some research.
I've posted in this forum about the fact that 59 times over the life of FF5 a set of five winning numbers has been drawn twice. But none of those 59 times when it occurred, happened on the very next day. Sometimes it was years before the same set of five winning numbers was drawn for a second time.
But it almost did happen - twice!! On September 6, 2006 this set of FF5 numbers were drawn; 8 16 25 28 29. The very next day (September 7th) saw four repeating numbers be drawn with this set of numbers ==> 8 22 25 28 29. A second set of five winning numbers containing four repeating numbers from the previous day's drawing happened on 11/15/2019. Those two dates are the only occurrences in 7,337 FF5 drawings where four numbers repeated from the previous day.
Repeaters are very common occurrences. Approximately 50% of all drawings contain a repeating number. That's why people play them. There's a good chance (~50%) you'll match a number in tonite's drawing if you play a number that came out last night. There have been many occasion's when two numbers from last nights drawing appeared in the previous nights drawing. Three repeating numbers in last nights set of winning numbers does happen, but not a lot.
I wish I had an automated way (ie make my lottery software count the number of times) when a string of consecutive days occurred when zero repeaters were drawn. Right now, I'm aware of one time when nine drawings in a row were held and no number repeated from the previous day. (It's happening right now) The only way by using my software that I can see if there is a long string of days with no repeater being drawn is to manually scroll back through 7,337 drawings of history, and try to spot when/if it happened. It's possible there was a string of greater than nine days when a repeater was not drawn, but with all the scrolling I've done so far, I've yet to see one. My guess is that I'm looking for something that isn't there. So if nine consecutive days of no repeaters being drawn really is the record, look for it to end soon. G5
PS - I get the fact that knowing there were two times in FF5's history when four repeating numbers appeared in the same drawing is nice to know information, but it won't help you pick five winning numbers on the same line. It's an interesting fact, but SO WHAT!! About the only thing I can think of with regard to helping you win a jackpot with what I wrote above is, don't play four repeaters on the same line. (which by the way a QP can easily do to you) But then, I don't know any lottery player that's stupid enough to do that.
