There's something happening in FF5 right now that I've been keeping my eye on, and I thought I'd pass it on. It's something that happens about 5 or 6 times per year, and it last happened on August 29th of 2021. What I'm talking about is whenall five winning numbers come from the previous 4 drawings. In the vast majority of draws, two numbers appear that were also drawn in the previous three or four drawings, but you should be aware that it does happen where none of the five winning numbers appeared in the last four draws. (All five were "long skips")
The above stems from something I was told by a guy I knew that played the lottery almost every day until the day he died. His name was "Murph" and he was quite a character. Murph and I were talking lottery stuff when he said to me "You wanna know tonight's winning numbers? Look for 'em in the last four drawings. They're there." So I looked, and I saw that what Murph said was fairly accurate. Most online lottery games such as FF5 have more "short skips" than they do "long skips." If you were able to look at it on a graph, you'd see that over the entire life of any game played anywhere, more numbers that were drawn very recently appear more often than do numbers that were drawn eight, nine or ten drawings ago. My lottery software displays graphs, and I can tell you that FF5 has been a "short skip" game since July of 2001. (Meaning that some of the numbers that were drawn last night will very likely be drawn again very soon.)
All of that said, Murph wasn't really accurate when it comes to all five winning numbers coming from the previous four draws. That does happen, but if it happened 7 or 8 times per year, then that would be a lot. It's been a little more than four months since it happened. I think it's due to happen soon, and my guess is that it'll happen in early 2022. G5
I was curious to know how many times did all five winning numbers come from the previous four drawings in 2021, so I started digging in my software.
It happened a whopping 7 times!
On 4/19/2021 when 15 33 34 35 36 was drawn
On 5/5/2021 when 7 9 18 33 34 was drawn
On 5/18/2021 when 12 20 21 35 36 was drawn
On 6/18/2021 when 1 2 7 15 36 was drawn
On 7/5/2021 when 1 7 12 30 35 was drawn
On 7/29/2021 when 1 15 18 19 28 was drawn
Finally on 8/29/2021 when 12 16 25 28 36 was drawn
Notice how #'s 28 or 35 were part of all but two of those seven drawings! That's because they were the two hottest numbers of the year and "came back quickly." (They were short skips all year long.) Conversely, the coldest number of 2021, #32, was a "long skip" all year long.
Now for the hard part...

I was going to suggest that you send your friends a bill for $192,782 (minus some for taxes, of course) because obviously you would have picked those 5 numbers. Until I saw that 4 of the numbers were in the 30's. And we know there is NO way you would have picked 33, 34, 35 & 36! Lol I find it so interesting though that the 30's all banned together like that that day. But when you look, it's kind of right there in how they kept building. If only we could recognize these things as they were happening!

That's "The Mink-Man"! He's somebody that plays NY's Take5 (and he's pretty good at it too) and posts a lot in the Take5 forum. We used to kiddingly trade punches in the Take5 forum when I lived in NY and was playing Take5. It was Mink that shortened my screen name of "GiveFive" to G5. We both have copies of Gail Howard's Advantage Gold software installed on our computers, and we used to help each other out with it. It was Mink that first noticed that there had been many "quints" (a set of 5 Take5 numbers that had been drawn twice) and alerted Roy Siano the Editor of NY's former Lotto News newspaper about it. Lotto News ran a story about it, and kept updating their readers in NY state with the latest number of quints. In late 2020 I moved to Florida... it aint ever been the same since.
Mink has the ability to knock out Take5 4-baggers quite a bit. That's why I said he's pretty good at Take5. I could never quite match him in that department. It took me a long time before I had 4 numbers on the same line playing Take5. Mink has been playing Take5 for more years than he can count. By the time I won my first 4-bagger, Mink had scored so many of them he'd lost track of how many he had. G5

Correction: I don't think this is a second chance drawing. The rules do not say losing tickets and you do not have to hold on to the ticket to claim winnings. It looks like even winning tickets can be entered.

Well well well! Four of last nights five winning numbers appeared in the previous four drawings and as a result I won four Free Tickets. I played five lines of numbers with all five numbers coming from the last four draws and on the fifth line I played, I matched one number. So on four out the five lines I played, I won a small prize.
There have been 161 FF5 drawings since August 29, 2021 which was the last time all five winning numbers came from the previous four draws. That's a lot of drawings which makes me think it's going to happen sooner rather than later.
From 11/4/2020 until 4/19/2021 (which was the other time I played daily trying to catch 5 numbers from the previous 4 draws) there were 164 FF5 drawings in between the dates when it happened. That tells me it's not too far away from happening due to the fact that 161 drawings have taken place since Aug 29th. The good news about that is it didn't cost me anything this time. I started playing every day on January 1st of last year watching and waiting for it to happen, and it got a bit expensive. (Normally I dont play every single day) G5

Thank you for this reminder. Just a heads up that it's probably better to use the app. Unfortunately, the app does not work on my phone and hasn't in a long time. I used a computer to enter and won a free ticket. Well it seems that you have to print out a coupon and take it to the store. I thought maybe they would also email it and then I could just show the barcode on my phone but a follow-up email hasn't been received. I'm not bothering.

Thanks! Without lottery software it's impossible to see/know when 5FTL4 last happened or how many times it happened in one years time. It's definitely coming, it's not a matter of if it's coming, it's simply when will it happen? That said, if you do happen to catch it, there's still no guarantee you'll win a jackpot. Given that it's been happening 5 or 6 times each year for at least the last ten years or more, and it's been 4.5 months since it last happened, I think it's due.
Here's some news from The Not So Good New Department;
On December 4th, 2021 a jackpot winning FF5 ticket good for $216,416 was sold at The Aurora Food Mart in Melbourne and at the present time is UNCLAIMED! Why even bother to buy a ticket if you're not going check to see if it won a prize???? A long time a go, I knew a guy that had put a scratch off in the glove compartment of his car unscratched. He stopped to buy gas and bought the ticket, but he was running late to a doctors appointment, so he thought that he'd scratch it later that day after he got home.
Except he forgot that it was in the glove compartment..... for seven or eight months! He sold the car and was cleaning it out when he found the scratch off. He scratched it and found he was $50 richer. Nice, but what if it was a one million dollar winner? OK, it was still in the car after at least seven months, so if it was a million dollar winner, he'd have gotten get the million bucks. But I'd rather have had that million bucks in the bank for seven months. And what about if his car caught fire during that seven month period and was completely destroyed??? G5
