Here's some data for the last ten years with regard to the Teens and Twenty's Number Groups. In each year either the Teens or Twenty's had the most hits with greater than 500. If a group is going to have the most hits per year, it will have at least 500 hits. The last column is the number of hits as of June 30th of the year.
2021 20's 524 hits & it had 272 hits as of 6/30/2021
2020 Teens 549 274
2019 20's 513 241
2018 Teens 522 268
2017 20's 518 257
2016 20's 515 250
2015 Teens 519 269
2014 20's 530 271
2013 Teens 514 253
2012 20's 509 248
2011 Teens 524 260
As you can see with the exception of 2016 and 2017, the two groups alternated each year as to which one has the most hits. Also, to be the number group with more than 500 hits per year, it must have at approximately 250 hits by June the 30th. The above chart is what makes me think the Teens will have over 500 hits in 2022 and be the Number Group to focus your number picks on. G5
G5 - can you give us a breakdown of how many hits each teen number had in 2021, if possible? I want to print that out for sure.

Here's a summary table of all the number groups from 2009 until 2021. You can clearly see how the Teens and Twenty's alternate leading each year. The "1830" denotes a Leap Year when 1830 balls/numbers are drawn as opposed to 1825 in a 365 day year.
BTW The Twentys Number Group is leading January of 2022 with 50 hits as of last night. G5

Here's a good table for 2021. It shows all 36 numbers and how many hits they had. ("Frequency" means the number of hits) Sorry about the side to side scrolling. On the far right you can see #35 with it's 63 hits. #32 was the lowest hitter with 38. G5

Seeing and using all of the data on the above tables is great......
Except it's still very hard to win a FF5 jackpot even though you have and can use all of the knowledge the tables can provide you with.
I do think they help. My experience using them in combination with my lottery software has been that I win many more small prizes than my lottery playing friends do. I've only met/knew one other person that bought/used lottery software and his experience was the same as mine. I think I've got a slightly better chance of winning a jackpot using them, but I know it'sstillgoing to take some good luck in addition to using the charts/software to win a jackpot. I usually dont tell people I have and use my spreadsheets and that I bought lottery software. That's because I've gotten too many eyes rolled at me when I mentioned it to people. Most think I'm crazy for having bought it. I've even heard a comment or two like "You dont seriously think you'll win a lottery jackpot, do you?" My answer to that question is "No I don't, but I sure hope someday somebody walks up to you and says; "Did you hear that G5 hit the lottery?" I sure as Hell wont say anything to those skeptics about it. Let 'em hear it through the grapevine. And if they come up to me and say "I heard you hit big money" all I'll say is "Yup" and I sure as Hell wont tell 'em how much I won! That's my lottery dream/fanatsy!
Please remember too that making spreadsheets and poking around in my lottery software is my hobby. I'm retired and I enjoy it. It's a fun way for me to pass some time, and if I win a few bucks along the way, then great! But if I don't win any $$$, that's OK too. Of course, winning a FF5 jackpot would be the icing on the cake. For me, it's a "thrill of the chase" kind of thing. I'm willing to share my spreadsheets and other information here with the hope that maybe someone else might use it and combined with a little luck, they might win a big pile of money. Good luck! G5

Here's the net of my post above....
If you buy a QP or cash in a Free Ticket and win a FF5 jackpot..... it's FLUKE! A very lucky/nice fluke, but a fluke none the less.
If you pick your own numbers and win a jackpot, it's also a fluke. When using home grown spreadsheets and lottery software to pick your numbers, and you win a FF5 jackpot with player picks, it's a still a fluke, but maybe a little less of a fluke.
FF5 jackpots are won almost every day, but the reason a few people are blessed with a very lucky fluke is because many players buy $600,000 worth of FF5 tickets with multiple lines/combo's printed on themevery day, but there are only 376,992 possible combinations of five numbers in a 5/36 matrix. That's what makes it very likely that someone (or two players) will have bought a ticket with a line on it that matches the five winning numbers that were drawn the previous night. But that was still a fluke. When you buy a lottery ticket you're asking to be blessed with a fluke!
Many people are cynical or skeptical of buying and using lottery software. OK, that's fine with me as they're entitled to a opinion I don't share with them. Buying and using software/spreadsheets wont improve the odds. The odds are the odds, and they never change. When you buy a lottery ticket, you're asking to blessed with a fluke and you're also basically throwing a dollar down the toilet. So what's so wrong with trying to give yourself a very slight edge so as not to completely throw a buck or two down the tubes?? We all know the lottery is a suckers bet... but!! Ya never know! And most of those big winners out there don't have any regrets about asking to blessed with a fluke. G5

So much good info posted today! Well, I certainly think I'm going to win a jackpot! Wouldn't be playing if I didn't. And I don't see why you can't win 2. I don't care what the odds are! When the Chiefs were up 21-3 today, they had a 94.9% chance to win so...... LOL! Some people like to spend $20 a week at Starbucks and I spend my $20 a week trying to win $200,000! I think my spend makes way more sense! And when you don't win, you know you're helping kids go to college so there's always that. My neighbor's daughter got a Bright Futures scholarship about 8 years ago.

Having this information clearly gives someone an advantage because when I didn't have it, I wasn't winning! I know that I will end most weeks with several free tickets and that wasn't the case before (I consider Friday the end of the week because I turn my free tickets in on High Jackpot Day which I learned because you pointed it out.) I have learned so much from this one thread! I'm not a numbers person (I teach Language Arts!) but I have enjoyed playing FF5 so much. Without you G5, there is NO way I would still be playing. Thank you for these charts. I threw some extra teen numbers on my lines tonight just in case they wanted to get a head start. I have printed your charts out and look forward to the winning week ahead. Let's do this!

Thanks for your kind and positive feedback. By winning several Free Tickets, you're playing smartly and your playing experience has improved. That's exactly what happens to most players that have information that makes them a smarter player. When playing smartly most players win a boatload of small prizes when they have insights other players don't. Keep playing smart... even though the bigger prizes are still very tough to win, when you play smart, players just don't know what might happen.
I'm an old curmudgeon but I like to learn new things myself... That's exactly why I make the spreadsheets and poke around in my lottery software. I'm always learning something new. Maybe I'll win big someday, maybe I wont, but I do know that I'll at least have some fun along the way.
Last night: 8 12 23 32 36
Sure #12 would show up last night! That's because I didn't play!! I should have thought to play yesterday because during most months all 36 numbers are drawn at least one time. Only during a few months of the year does a number skip the entire month. So with just two draws left in January I should have known #12 would very likely pop. Therefore I missed an opportunity to have a "Free Number". Remember - when playing a Free Number and it comes out, the odds to win a jackpot go waaaaaaaay down because you only have to match four numbers!
Nine hits for #23 this month and it's leading.. The Twenty's have 51 hits this month.

One more thing about playing smartly.....
I've learned that what "playing smartly" actually means is that you gain insights as to how the numbers behave over time. Every game has behavioral characteristics, and all Pick5 games offered by different states share or have the same behavioral characteristics. I've compared NY's Take5 to FF5 many times in this forum. Yes, they each have a different matrix (5/36 vs 5/39) but the exact same kinds of things happen in Take5 that happen in Fantasy5. The only thing that's different is which numbers those same things happen to. For instance, #1 is the top all time hitter in FF5, and #6 is the all time top hitter in Take5. And you can also see those same behavioral characteristics in other states Pick5 games as well. I've looked in my lottery software at just about every states Pick5 game, and I see the exact same behavioral traits in them that I've seen in FF5.
Here are a few common characteristics that I've seen among multiple states Pick5 games.
Numbers get hot and stay hot for long periods of time. That's true in every state's Pick5 game.
Each year, for a 5/36 or 5/39 game, the top hitting number of the year will have about 60 hits (or more than 60) and you can see which number will be the top hitter of the year by the end of June of that year because it will have about 30 hits. (It's averaging 5 hits per month when most numbers are averaging 4 hits per month) That's true in every states Pick5 game.

It's a little early in the year, but with almost one month of 2022 in the history books, here are the numbers that are in contention for FF5 Top Hitter of 2022:
Numbers 23, 7, 24, 32, 36, 21 & 35. #23 has 9 hits, #'s 7,24, 32 & 36 have 7 and #'s 21 and 35 have 6 hits. (Notice that #35 is still hitting above average like it has been since 2019)
By the end of next month the picture will be a little clearer, (the leading number will have approximately 10 to 12 hits) and by April 1st, one of the above numbers will probably emerge leading the way with 16 to 18 hits. Time will tell. We'll check back here on April 1st and see how good or bad my predictions are. G5
