Three jackpot winners last night....BUT!!!
There were two Player Picked tickets sold in the same 7 Eleven store in Largo, the other ticket was a QP sold in Miami. The Florida Lottery's website says each winner received $63,872, but the winner in Largo actually won $127,774 because they won twice.
That very smart player in Largo took $31,996 dollars away from the winner in Miami. Had the player in Largo only bought one ticket, then both winners would have split the jackpot 50/50 and won $95,808. But because the player in Largo bought the same line twice, they took $31,996 away from the winner in Miami. Pretty smart! G5

I'm sure you have heard somebody say "Buy Quick Picks because QP's have won more jackpots." And they'd be absolutely 100% correct about QP's having won more jackpot's than Player Picks or "PP's".
Here's something else that's 100% correct. 75% of all lottery tickets sold are QP's. (Although that doesn't seem to be the case with FF5. It looks like it's closer to 50/50 with FF5) If QP's are 75% of all tickets sold, then just 25% are PP's, which means QP lines out number PP lines 3 to 1.
If Florida sold 100,000 FF5 lines, then 75,000 of them would be QP's and 25,000 would be PP's. If you put that on a pie graph, a three quarters sized slice of the pie would be QP's and a one quarter sized slice would be PP's. Which slice do you think the jackpot winning numbers has the best chance of coming from?
Buying QP's is all well and good, but you lose all control over the numbers you get. How do you know you wont get a line of five longshots and no short skips? What if the terminal gave you a line with four consecutive numbers? (Lines like that are hardly ever drawn) What if the sum of the five numbers was 25, or 140? There are any number of reasons why players don't want to buy QP's, but ya know what? I play a couple of QP's every time I pick my FF5 numbers. That way I have both based covered.
And while I'm at it...Jackpot Triple Play currently has a jackpot of $1.2 million. I bought 5 QP's for it today. Almost every JTP jackpot winner has been a QP. I could use my software to chose my numbers, but because I only play JTP when the jackpot grows to over 1 million, I don't bother with my software. JTP odds to win a jackpot aren't as extreme as PowerBall's so when it's jackpot gets to a million bucks, I slam a few bucks on it until somebody hits it and the jackpot resets. G5
BTW an edge I forgot to put in my post above this post: Play 3 odd and 2 even numbers or 3 even and 2 odd's on all of your lines. Out of the 376,992 possible combinations of five numbers a 5/36 matrix produces, 249,696 of those combo's are 3 odd/2 even or 3 even/2 odd. (124,848 each)
Tonight is is the Jackpot Triple Play drawing for $1.2 million. Due to the size of tonight's jackpot, player interest in the game will rise and the Florida Lottery will sell more tickets for it than they usually do. Whether or not there will be sufficient coverage of the possible 3,122,273 combo's to produce a jackpot winner remains to be seen. If there isn't a jackpot winner tonight, the jackpot will rise for next Tuesday's drawing, and if there isn't a jackpot winner in subsequent drawings, it could conceivably keep rising to a maximum of $2 million. If and when the jackpot gets to 2 million, it'll remain fixed at $2 million until it's eventually won by somebody. After a player wins it, the jackpot will be reset to $275,000, and player interest in the game will disappear for a while.
I jump in and start playing the game when the jackpot reaches $1 million. I typically buy QP's even though I have lottery software because I don't spend any time analyzing the game like I do FF5.
Here's why I play it when the jackpot starts to gets big.... 3,122,000 to 1 oddsto win a million dollars is incrediblySWEET! It's very hard for players to find odds that low to win one million dollars (or possibly 2 million) anywhere!!!! There used to be a game offered in New York called Sweet Million. It had a 6/40 matrix, and the odds to win a million dollars was 3,838,380 to 1. Not only that, the game WAS NOT parimutuel. If four players won the jackpot, they each received one million dollars. There was no splitting the jackpot equally among multiple winners! It's a long story, but the game FLOPPED in NY, so The NY Lottery pulled it off the market. I HATED them for that, because I played it twice per week. (There was one very smart Sweet Million player in located in Suffern NY who played the same line of six numbers SIX TIMES, and those six numbers were drawn! HE WON 6 MILLION DOLLARS!!)
Sweet Million's odds were 3.8 million to 1. The NY Lottery used to advertise the game by saying "There are no lower odds available for players to win a million dollars in any other state's online lottery game in The USA". (Jackpot Triple Play did not exist at the time) Unfortunately, players in NY voted with their dollars and ignored the game (the idiots) so The NY Lottery cancelled it.
Consider this: Jackpot Triple Plays odds are LOWER than Sweet Millions and if you win a jackpot, it could be TWICE AS MUCH as Sweet Millions. JPT's odd's are 3.1 million to 1.
I used to occasionally play PowerBall to win a second place prize ($1 million) and because I always bought The Power Play option too, I could win $2 million. But the odds to do that are 11 million to 1. Why in the world would anybody spend three dollars to win a million bucks at 11 million to 1 odds when a single dollar bill will buy them 3.1 million to 1 odds to win either $1 or $2 million??? Needless to say I dont Play PB anymore. G5

A word about JPT's odds calculation... It's a bit confusing.
Jackpot Triple Play has a 6/46 matrix. Normally that size of a matrix produces 9,366,820 to 1 odds. However, when you buy a one dollar ticket, you will get THREElines with six numbers per line printed on the ticket. Divide 9,366,820 by three and you get 3,122,273. (33.33 cents per line aint bad)
If you pick your own numbers, the first line printed on the ticket is your picks. The other two lines are QP's. If you buy a one dollar QP, then all three lines printed on your ticket are QP's. You can also play "combo's" but I never do that, so I don't have a clue how that works! G5

I have been entering and submitting my FF5 tickets in the bonus promotion using the lottery's app on my smartphone.
Today I read on The Florida Lottery's website that players should keep their original tickets as they might be needed to claim a bonus prize.
Now they tell me..... If my FF5 ticket was a loser, after I scanned it with my phone to enter the promotion, it hit the garbage can. If I won cash with my FF5 ticket, the retailer paid me my prize money and I guess they threw it out... Anybody else know anything about this? Sure hope the Lottery's website needs an update. G5

Last Night: 10 12 18 2028
Those numbers are uglier than they appear to be. Two sets of same last digits! (10/20 & 18/28) That doesn't happen much.
All five numbers are even. Out of 376,992 possible combo's, only 8,568 consist of all even numbers. So while it does happen, you wont see a lot of drawings where all five winning numbers are evens. There were however three teens drawn....
There were two winners of the FF5 jackpot, each won $102,166.
Now for the good news; I won $9.00 (and two Free Tickets) because I had three numbers on the same line. (Had four of the five winning numbers across 10 lines on my ticket) In The Jackpot Triple Play dept, I won a buck. No winner of the 1.2 million dollar jackpot, so next Tuesday it will be 1.35 million going up for grabs.
Tonight is another big FF5 jackpot. They all have been in the neighborhood of 200k lately. The biggest Saturday jackpot this year has been $214,000. Nice to know I'll be chasing it for FREE, but I hope we don't get another rolldown like we did last Saturday!! G5

I had all five numbers from last night's drawing! But only two on the same line . Each of the numbers that won last night were extra random numbers that I included with recent hot numbers. I cannot believe both winners from last night's drawing chose those numbers themselves for the same line!
For the Bonus Play promotion, if you look at the Rules under the Promo Info tab, rule #12 says, "A prizewinner in this Promotion is not required to submit the Eligible ticket he or she entered to claim a prize."
You talking about the Jackpot Triple Play has me interested in buying a ticket or two. Three lines for a dollar ain't half bad and it is over a mil now. How I would love that sweet sweet cash.

"that sweet sweet cash"...yes, indeed! You did great last night. Now just put all winning 5 on one line tonight. Watching My Lottery Dream Home last night always gets me excited to play! G5 recently retired and moved to FL so he might already be living in his dream home, but I could use an upgrade! lol
The JTP drawing is on Tuesday. I think I'll spread my quick picks out over a few days. Always looking at how to change things up!

Thank you! Yeah I was kind of surprised I won cash again so soon... That's NOT usually how it works for me.
Looking back at my earlier post about Jackpot Triple Play I see that I made a huge error about the odds. Even though the odds are 3.1 million to one (because when you buy a one dollar ticket you get three lines or three chances to win the jackpot for your one dollar bill) there still are 9.3 million combinations in the pool of combo's that the winning combo comes from. So here's a little clarification if I may....
This is where "coverage" come into play. Coverage simply means how many out of the 9.3 million possible combinations were sold. If 4.65 million combo's were sold, then the coverage is 50%. That also means 4.65 million combo's were NOT sold, and 50% of the combo's were NOT covered so those 4.65 million unsold combo's cant produce a jackpot winner. A 50/50 chance exists that the six number winning combo will come from the covered/sold pool. The more combo's that are sold, the greater the percentage of coverage, which means a greater probability that a player will win the jackpot.
In all JPT drawings, all 9.3 million combos are always in play. If the jackpot is low ($275,000) player interest in the game is low. Therefore coverage is low because not many combo's were sold which means it's very likely nobody will have the winning combo, and the jackpot will not be won, and it will grow/rollover. As player interest in the game grows, due to a higher jackpot amount, more combo's will be sold, and the greater the probability somebody will win that jackpot.
The above is why I don't bother playing the game before the jackpot reaches one million dollars. Chances are nobody will win the jackpot when it's low, so I know the best I can do is win a second place prize. But the lower tier prizes for JPT are lousy!! (Second place wins $500 for matching 5 out of 6 numbers) and the odds are 13,000 to 1 against me. Seems to me that odds of 13,000 to 1 against me should pay a lot better than 500 bucks if I matched 5 out of 6 numbers!
Last night nobody won the jackpot so it's now $1.35 million for next Tuesday night. I'll buy some QP's for it, and if nobody wins it, I'll keep buying until somebody does. After a player hits it, they'll reset it to $275,000 and start the process all over again. G5

Good luck tonight, everyone! WIN BIG!
Speaking of David Bromstad and My Lottery Dream Home...
I was watching the show last week and was shocked that David was in my former home town of Poughkeepsie, NY! A woman won a couple million with a scratch off and David was doing his thing with her and her husband in Poughkeepsie. He had a hard time saying 'Poughkeepsie'- it's pronounced PO-KIP-SEE.
Anyway, I recognized everything everywhere they went. The three houses they looked at were just OK at best, but what shocked me more than anything else was what the asking prices of those house were! Let me tell you... I'd have NEVER paid what that woman spent for the house she chose in THAT neighborhood... But I've been in Florida for almost 18 months now and I dont know the real estate market in Poughkeepsie any more. What bothered my wife and I the most was we had a nicer house in a better location than the house she chose, and we didn't come close to getting what she was willing to pay for hers.
Thanks a lot Covid... Prices are through the roof there now due to the fact that Poughkeepsie is not too far from NYC, and when Covid hit everybody in NYC moved to upstate NY to escape the virus. Housing prices shot up like crazy just after we sold ours and left for Florida. SUX! G5

Thanks for your reply about The Bonus Play Promo!
Your experience with all five winning numbers spread out all over your ticket is a very positive thing! It means you are picking smart! Keep it up.
JPT is a good game to play, but only after the jackpot reaches one million. Less than a million? Wait for it to get there before you spend your money! G5

Even though this is The Florida Fantasy5 thread of the PICK5 forum, for no particular reason, I took a look in my software at Jackpot Triple Play. Here's what I saw;
There have been 315 draws since the game began in February of 2019. #2 is the hottest number since the game began with 52 hits, but #10 is nipping at # #2's heels with 51. In the previous 104 drawings (a moving one years worth of draws) #'s 18 & 27 are tied for the lead with 20 hits each. (#18 is also the third best alltime hitter with 50 hits)
Since January 1st of 2022, there are four numbers tied for the lead with 3 hits. They are: #7, #13, #32 & #36. There is a very good chance that one of these numbers will have a total of 6 hits by 3/31/2022. That puts whichever of those four numbers in position to have 9 or 10 hits by the end of June, which is the number of hits the hits leader of 2022 will need to have to get to 20 hits by the end of the year.
For all of 2021, #18 was the hits leader with 21 hits. For 2020, #2 had 21 hits and #'s 10 & 26 had 20 hits each. In 2019 there were 11 months worth of drawings (96 in total as opposed to a full year of 104 draws) and the hit leader for 2019 was #8 with 20 hits.
2019 ===> #8 had the most hits with 20 hits
2020 ===> #2 had the most hits with 21 hits
2021 ===> #18 had the most hits with 21 hits and for the previous 104 drawings is leading with 21 hits.
So as you can see above, we've just learned a new fact about JPT, and that fact is the hottest number of the year will have 20 or 21 hits. By 6/30/2022 the hits leader of 2022 for JPT will have approximately 10 hits, and at that point we'll know which number will finish the year with 20 or 21 hits.
As I learn more about the game's behavioral characteristics, I'll post them here. G5

Well I've already learned something else about JPT.
Just like FF5, with regard to same last digits, there are many times when two of JPT's six winning numbers had the same last digit, and a ton of draws had no last digits being the same. Occasionally there has been a drawing with 3 last digits being the same, but not many!
The last time 3 same last digits appeared was on 11/19/2021 when these 6 numbers were drawn: 13 16 26 35 36 43. Don't play lines with 3 last digits being the same. To date there has never been a JPT drawing with 4 last digits being the same, and I doubt there will ever be one where 5 of the 6 numbers has the same last digit. This is why I shouldn't buy JPT QP's because the lottery terminal could easily spit out a ticket with 4 or even 5 last digits being the same.
There is something else I should mention... JPT has 9.3 million possible combos of 6 numbers. That's one heck of a lot more than FF5!!! So maybe some of the stats I'm posting about things like same last digit being the same doesn't amount to a hill of beans... I dunno. The two games are radically different which means their behavioral characteristics will be very different too. G5

Last night nobody won the jackpot so it's now $1.35 million for next Tuesday night. I'll buy some QP's for it, and if nobody wins it, I'll keep buying until somebody does. After a player hits it, they'll reset it to $275,000 and start the process all over again. G5
The net of the above post is this: The amount of Coverage of the 9.3 million combos will determine whether or not there is a jackpot winner. If coverage is low because the jackpot is low, there wont be a jackpot winner. If coverage is high because of a high jackpot, then chances are there will be a jackpot winner.
JPT was purposely designed to work that way!! "Lotto Fever" kicks in with the lottery ticket buying public and the jackpot is won by some lucky fool. (Hope I'm that fool) The Florida Lottery isnt interested in giving away small jackpots, and players are interested in winning them either. The Fla Lottery wants the excitement to build and that in turn will spur the public into buying a lot more lottery tickets than they typically would. See how it works? G5
