Got some good stuff to put out here!
As of last night there have been 3FF5 jackpot winners in January that have won the whole thing for themselves. 3rd one was last night - one player who picked their numbers won $177,651. Ticket was sold in St Pete which is approximately 20 miles from me.
There have been a total of 34 players that have either shared a jackpot or won the entire thing for themselves. Four players have won a jackpot with a Free Ticket, but none of those four was a lone jackpot winner. Keep playing those Free Tickets! There have been 11 QP tickets (doesnt include Free Tix) that won the jackpot, which means 19 jackpot winning tickets were player picks. That's interesting - I would have thought it would be the other way around....
Last Night: 10 11 14 24 25
As of last night there have been 90 balls/numbers drawn this month and 32 of them came from the twenty's number group. I played three teens on most of my lines last night but didn't win anything..... I even played four numbers from the teens on a couple of my lines and still won nuthin!!
Three teens, two numbers with same last digit. No numbers drawn from the singles or thirty's number groups. G5
I double checked my spreadsheet and the data in the above post is WRONG!!
But it's correct now.... There have been 29 players that have won a jackpot in 2022. 11 won with a QP, 4 won with a Free Ticket, and 14 won with player picked numbers. Also, I didn't mention Rolldowns in the post above. There have been 3 Rolldowns this year. As of last night, there have been 4 winners of the jackpot that didn't share it with any other player(s). None of the 4 players that won with a Free Ticket won the entire jackpot. All four shared their big Free Ticket win with other players.
Last Night: 10 15 16 17 33
Huge showing for the teens. #33 was out the longest with a skip of 32 drawings. #12 is the only number yet to hit in January. Only one number (#10) came from the previous 4 drawings.
As of last night, The Twenty's number Group has 32 hits in January, The Teen's has 24 hits. IMHO, that's why the big showing from The Teens last night. We know that everything eventually evens out over time. We also know that The Teens and The Twenty's will hit the most of the four FF5 number groups. The Twenty's got so far ahead of The Teens, that The Teens had some catching up to do...and they did just that last night. It looks to me like The Teens still need to do more catching up. While I don't think we'll see four numbers from the Teens on one line again anytime soon, I do think it's a smart move to put extra play on The Teens when picking numbers. (I'd pick three numbers from The Teens on the same line on a few of my lines) G5

I think it's great how QP and player picked chances are pretty equal. Perhaps one of us will win with the free ticket (since we have no problem collecting those!) AND a player picked ticket! Forget 1 jackpot, we're going for 2. One shared and one all to ourselves. Dream big!
Saw the numbers this morning & knew I had picked consecutive teen numbers. Checked and I had 14 & 15. I'm like c'mon, man! lol But I had 33 so I got 3 free tickets for 3 lines played.
Gotta love how we've had 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16 & 17 in the last 3 drawings. Means 12 has got to show up tonight, right??

My pick is 4, 12, 18, 27, 30 for tonight. I like the idea of winning two jackpots, one to share, and one to keep for ourselves. We are jackpot winners. I claim it to be true!

Let's have some fun.....
There are 12 more drawings left in January.
Both the Teens and Twenty's number groups have averaged 42 hits per month for the last 13 years.
As of last night the Teens has 24 hits and the Twenty's has 32.
My thinking is that with 12 draws remaining in January (60 numbers/balls) the Twenty's will have 42 or more hits in January and be the number group with the most hits. They only need 10 of the 60 balls to be drawn or 16.666% to reach 42 while the Teens needs 18 or 30% of the 60 balls yet to be drawn. The Twenty's has the easier path to 42.
So from now until the end of the month, I say numbers from The Twenty's Number Group should played more than numbers from the Teens. (But don't completely ignore The Teens) I'll keep track daily of how each group is doing and post results here. G5

This will sound a little crazy, but I think I'd actually enjoy hitting a jackpot with a Free Ticket more than I'd enjoy it if I hit one with my own picks.
Of course it goes without saying that I want it all... I dont wanna share a dime of it with anybody! G5

Haha! I didn't even play last night. Aren't the numbers that hit perfect? One from each group & 2 from the hot 20's. Maybe that's why there were 4 winners last night.
As far as 17, in the summer I noticed that it doesn't stray too far from 21. Check July & Aug. There won't be too many drawings between each number appearing. Then there was a stretch (7/25 - 8/5) where neither number appeared and then they both popped up together and started the back and forth again. So with 21 hitting 1/10, I thought 17 might be getting antsy! Of course, it's far from fool-proof, but as you always say maybe that will be the "skill" part of the game that I'll be mixing with the "luck" part or vice versa!
There's 21 following behind 17! And our pair 24 & 35. Everyone got at least one line with 3 numbers, right?! I didn't put 21 on the line with 24 & 35 so only free tickets for me. I had 15 as the repeater. Ugh!

Last night: 7 16 21 24 35
Two numbers from the Twenty's giving them a total 34 hits in January. At the moment there are five numbers with five hits this month - 21, 23, 24, 35 & 36. Interesting that three of them are from The Twenty's number group. #35 with another strong showing this month, it's still on its roll from all the way back to 2019. As far as the five hottest numbers in January goes, those are the numbers I'd be playing until the end of the month. At least one of them will have eight (or more) hits this month and be the hits leader of January.
There were three numbers from the previous 4 drawings. Still no 5FTL4.
Something interesting happened last night that doesn't happen much, but it's hard for players without software to see it. The last four consecutive drawings have seen an adjacent number be drawn starting with #13 drawn last Monday. #14 was drawn Tuesday, #15 was drawn on Wednesday and #16 was drawn last night. So that begs the question of; Will #17 be drawn tonight?? Could be it will, but I kind of doubt it. Four consecutive adjacents drawn happens infrequently, and I cant recall having seen five lately. With almost 7500 FF5 drawings having taken place I'm sure it's happened, so I looked back to 2019 to try and find one, but I didn't see any. (It jumps right off the page at me when I look at the graph in the software) I dunno, because it hasn't happened since at least 2019, who knows, maybe it'll happen tonight. I'll play #17 on a line or two.
Here's something that might be due to take place: Three same last digits. FF5 has not seen a set of five winning numbers be drawn where three of the winning numbers have the same last digit since December 15th when 4 5 15 31 35 was drawn. Previous to Dec 15th, it happened on November 8th with 10 14 24 34 35 being drawn. So it might be getting ready to come out. But which three last digits of the ten possible numbers will be the same??? You tell me!
Good Luck tonight. It's Friday and jackpot usually are over $200,000 and of course tomorrow is the BIG day. G5

I matched 3 twice on some free tickets I cashed in. Yay! For my own picks, I had 21 and 35 together but not the other numbers. This is #12's night me thinks, but I thought that last night as well.

Congrats on the $$$ wins and The Free Tickets too!
Number 12.... I understand exactly how you feel about it. It's gone missing for 30 draws now. Something to think about, and there are two schools of thought on "longshots" ("Longshot" meaning #12 has been out or has skipped a lot of draws)
Some players will tell you "Dont chase a longshot thinking that it's going to hit soon. Wait for it to hit, don't play it the next drawing, then start playing it every day thereafter because it has a lot of catching up to do." I've seen that very thing happen, so there's definitely some wisdom in it.
Then other players say "It's been out so long that it's overdue. Play it!" There's wisdom in that too. Here's why they say it; Only 60 times in the entire history of FF5 (7,494 drawings as of last night) has a number skipped 30 drawings. At a 40 skip, there have been only 12times that a number has sat out 40 consecutive draws. At 50 consecutive draws, only 4times has a number not appeared in 50 consecutive draws. The longest skip ever in FF5 is 67 drawings which has happened just ONE time. If you see a number at a 63, 64, 65, or 66 skip, play it because that 67 consecutive drawings skipped is a record that probably wont ever be equaled or broken. The net of this paragraph is the longer a number goes missing, the harder it becomes for it to STAY missing.
All of the above said, I'll play #12 on a line or two tonight, but not every line I play. G5

Four jackpot winners last night... One with a Free Ticket, 2 QP's and one player picked their own numbers. Total jackpot of $179,004.
Five Free Ticket jackpot winners in 2022, 13 with a QP and 15 player picked. If you add The five Free Tickets to The QP's it's 18 QP jackpot winners vs 15 Player picks.
I can remember when I was living in New York, the QP jackpot winners were about 75% and the player picked jackpot winners ran about 25% . So it was 3 to 1 in NY. Florida Fantasy5 seems to be closer to 50/50. Take5 has a 5/39 matrix whereas FF5 is 5/36. I wonder if the split being closer to 50/50 has anything to do with FF5's 5/36 matrix? Take5's odds are 575,757 to 1 for a jackpot. FF5's are 376,992 to1.
Is it because it's easier to win a FF5 jackpot that makes players want to pick their own numbers more so than players in NY playing Take5?? Also in NY, Take5 players can win a "Free Play" for matching two numbers. There have been many Free Play jackpot winners in the 20+ years Take5 has been around, but it seems to me that there were not as many of them as there are in Florida. Stands to reason... it's slightly harder to win a Free Play in NY so there are fewer of them which would mean fewer jackpot winners with a Free Play. G5

Awesome! Since the jackpots are higher on Saturdays, I've decided to cash my free tickets in on Saturdays from now on. I'm going after 12 as well tonight. Let's win this!

Saving your Free Tickets for the big jackpot day of the week is always a good thing to do. I got away from doing that for a while (must have temporarily lost my mind) but I'm back at it now.
Last Night: 1 6 23 26 27
Look at all of those Twenty's.... #23 leads the way in January with 6 hits. The Twenty's Number Group has 37 hits in January. With ten drawings left in this month it could push 50 hits in January. (50 hits is a lot)
Out of the four jackpot winners last night, two were Free Tickets. As of this morning, there could be 37 FF5 players walking around in The State of Florida knowing that they won a jackpot, but unfortunately there isn't. If there were zero UNCLAIMED TICKETS AT THIS TIME there'd be 37 players, but there are 13 unclaimed tickets since January 1st. I realize some of those 13 unclaimed tickets are from the day before yesterday and yesterday, and those will probably be claimed very soon, but there are still some unclaimed jackpot winners from a couple of weeks ago. Not good!
Only one number (#1) came from the previous 4 draws.
Have you ever noticed that when three numbers from the same number group are drawn, 2 of the numbers are usually in sequence? That seems to happen a lot. Three numbers from the teens was drawn earlier this week, and they were 14 15 & 16. Sunday January 16th saw 3 47 29 31 be drawn. When I play a line with three numbers from one group, I always make sure two of them are in sequence. Also, I used to pick numbers from all four groups on one line quite a bit. Not any more. FF5 has a very long history of numbers from just two groups being drawn. Sometimes I pick numbers from three groups, but playing numbers on a line from all four groups is something I don't do much anymore. G5

I wonder if some people wait to claim because they don't know what to do. I am curious about that as well. If it is just $50,000 - $200,000, what should we do to prepare? What do we need to bring to claim it?

Here's a look at how each of the four number group has performed since January 1, 2009 until December 31, 2021.
From 1/1/2009 until 12/31/2021 there were 23,585 numbers drawn.
The Units number group (1 -9) saw 5,907 numbers be drawn (25%)
The Teens number group (10 - 19) saw 6,565 numbers be drawn (27.8%)
The Twenty's number group (20 - 29) saw 6,531 numbers be drawn (27.7%)
The Thirty's number group (30 - 36) saw 4,582 number be drawn (19.4%)
It's what I expected to see... it simply confirms that playing more numbers from the teens and twenty's makes sense. (But that's only if you use four number groups like I've decided to use. What if there were 3 numbers groups of 12 numbers each? Then the data completely changes and each group has about the same amount of numbers be drawn... So it all depends upon how you decide to measure it. If you like using four groups, then go for it! If not, then you have decide how many number groups you want to look at. To each his/her own! G5

Very good questions. I would think The Florida Lottery website will tell you what to bring with you to claim a jackpot. My guess is two forms of ID with one being a photo ID.
I'm sure there are many who don't know what to do to prepare. As for me, I'd consult with an attorney if it was $100,000 or more. If less than $100,000 there will income tax with held so you might not need an attorney. It depends upon the individual players personal situation. Is there a hostile ex-wife or ex-husband involved? Child support? Past due income taxes? There could be many things a player would want to discuss with a lawyer before claiming a jackpot.
There is a story (I've no idea if it's true or not) that has circulated in New York for many years about two players who coincidentally happened to be brothers. They each won $10,000 on the same day playing NY's WIN4 game because they both played a pre-agreed upon set of four numbers.
But they wanted to minimize their income tax liability.... So they got their brother in law to go with them to Lottery HQ and have him claim both wins. They agreed they'd give their brother in law some money for claiming the tickets, and the brother in law would then turnover the balance of the winnings to them. Brother in law would put the win in HIS income tax forms...
Might have worked if brother in law wasn't a deadbeat dad. The NY Lottery ran his name through their computer and found out that he owed more money in past due child support payments than the amount of after tax winnings, so they confiscated all of the the winnings and gave it to his ex-wife.
I hope that story is just a rumour.... but there's a part of me that hopes it's true. It's a GREAT laugh!! G5
PS I also heard that the ex-wife kept every single dime of the money!
