No because the ticket will be $6 instead of $5 because they add the multiplier whether you want it or not.

Not to long ago there was a commenjt on a thread about a couple of people hitting 5 + 0 on Powerball and neither had played the Powerplasy, the comment was somethig like 'doesn'yanyone play the extra dolar?'

I myself can't understand not playing the Megaplier or Powerplay but I guess since so many players don't thst's kind of an indicator about so many people saying they won'y play $5 Megamillions.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any. So many systems, so many theories, so few jackpot winners.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

They just priced the poor people out of the multi-million Dollar Lottery Jackpot. (GREEDY)

The Lottery was better when the mafia ran it, they paid better and the mafia didn't take out taxes!

It's simply not an option.... considering the odds of winning doesn't increase (as do the ticket price).....

When MM and PB switched to $2 I moved to ONLY one ticket per draw.
Looking at the odds I plan to drop MM now for good. I'll classify it along with the BS 2nd line in powerball or Keno by the TN lottery (read: I never play it )

the odds are so stupid. I doubt the odds of even the 2nd tier prize will even make it worth it.

Here is a breakdown of the changes, which may cause some of you to reconsider (especially if you haven't read the Lottery Post article):

> Mega Ball 24 - 25 will be removed, making either 24 or 23 total. KRCA says 24. Current odds are 1 in 302 million. The new odds are 1 in 278.369 million according to Lottery Post's article (23 Mega Balls?). KRCA says ~290 million (24 Mega Balls?). For reference, Powerball odds are currently 1 in 292.201 million. The new Mega Millions will be easier to win than the Powerball.

> No more break-even tickets. Each winning ticket will be more than $5.
- "If someone just matches a Mega Ball, the minimum prize will be $10 (with a 2X multiplier, with a profit of $5). That rises to a maximum of $50 (with a 10X multiplier, profit of $45)."
> Currently the Megaplier is drawn from a pool of 15 balls: 5 marked with 2X, 6 with 3X, 3 with 4X, and 1 with 5X.
- New rule: "If a person buys a single play on a ticket they will have either a 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X printed next to their play to show their multiplier amount. If the player buys multiple plays on a ticket, each line will show the randomized multiplier."
- "If someone matches three white balls and the Mega Ball under the current system, they would win a $200 prize. Under the new system, someone would win at least $400 with a 2X multiplier. That would go up to $2,000 with a 10X multiplier."
- At this moment I don't know the odds for the Megaplier.
> Higher jackpots in general, in addition to higher starting jackpots (Jump from $20 to $50 million).

The full prize matrix will be released closer to April.

I got this information from KCRA 3 in contact with California Lottery officials and Timothy Schultz's YouTube channel.

With all that said, I'll only play if the jackpot reaches $800 million - $1 billion (tentatively). Supposedly it will reach those amounts faster. We'll see. The amount of money I save playing Mega Millions will go towards the Powerball, which means I can play it more often!

Well I broke down and bought a MM ticket today. First one in months. I's been focusing on Tx Lotto and Tx 2 Step.

Even got the mega-plier, which I hardly ever do.
