The "international" lottery game that is supposed to begin next year, involving most US lotteries, probably will create the first $500 million jackpot available within the US.

That pepsi thing is still in the planning stages. The prize is a million bucks to the winner with a chance to win a billion. The odds of winning the billion will be about 1000:1. Which is like choosing the correct Pick 3 number with only one pick. Possible, but not likely.

Okay, now I believe you can predict lottery numbers

If we're going to have a $1 billion LOTTERY jackpot, perhaps the annuity should be lengthed to 40 annual payments, with the final installment consisting of most of the prize ("balloon").
Of course, _almost_ nobody would choose the annuity.

Unless Mega Millions crosses $400 million in the current rollover series, I wouldn't bet on a $500 million jackpot.
Interest rates have a LOT to do with "jackpot potential".
