Congratulations, I am very glad that you won, and lets hope that You keep on winning big, if you got five numbers right out of 10, You have a good chance of getting 6 right.

Many people get 3 numbers right every so often by so called chance, that means that if the program predicts 3 or 4 numbers right, you can still get 1 to 3 more right just by chance as many people often do and then win a 5 or 6 number prize.

Keep it up, but don't go crazy and overdo the bets, or it can get very expensive, good luck.

Guru, you and your people really overdid yourselves, congratulations to you too, now I really believe that you are going to win the Belgian Jackpot soon with your other program.

You cant need 19 people to win if you can really win.From my experience,The winning number could be predicted without big big investment.I mean if you really could!

Hi All!
Guru I have an ideia that could speed up your way to find the "winning numbers" without 60 pcs (maybe).
If you have a spare computador with alot of ram (1256MB is sufficient I think) , take windows out, and install only DOS 6.2 and create a ram drive with...lets say 1GB...so that way you are using only ram and you will have the whole COMPUTER RESOURCES being used by your prog wich will be MUCH MUCH MUCH FASTER...the only thing you need is your program do be able to run in DOS MODE.
I though about this when I had my 486 DX 33MHZ with 16MB of RAM and I was programming something about earthquakes and structures and my program was taking 25 minutes to give me a report, so I just thought about using ram instead of my hard drive and after creating a ram drive USING ONLY 4MB of ram , my reports were taking only 15 secs to generate.

i would think that the key point is RAW processor power, higher processor speeds faster program

It seems to me that tiago182 is right an operating system is just trash dead weight it just gets in the way and also slows down your programs and makes it less accurate. It is garbage because

it is general purpose and it hogs the computer resources it would be best to either have the program work straight with the processor with just the needed minimum built in operating system to interface the program to the processor or to use an operating system more suited for running the program other than any windows, there most be an operating system used mostly for number processing by mathematicians or astronomers or other such people that have to do fast and complex number computations.

Anyhow just an idea or as he said run your program just on memory as it was done a long time ago on computers without hard drives like Commodore 64.

There are number crunching computers that are designed for that purpose. However, the resources and skills required to work with that type of computer far exceeds the desktop computer. Now if Guru hits the Belgium, then he may be able to invest in a sem-super computer. :-)
