RansomWare does appear to be a very big problem right now.

As mentioned, the oil is to help remove any metal shavings that get ingrained on the stone's surface. I own a few stones that recommend using either a honing oil or water, and I always use water because once you use oil, you would need to boil the stone to get the oil off of it. Water works just fine. As far as the stone goes, it looks like a kinda cheap one, probably not a very high grit (which you would want when sharpening kitchen knives), I would suggest going on Amazon and picking up one 1''x4'' medium (600 grit) EZE-Lap diamond pocket stone and one super fine (1,200 grit) stone of the same size. Together it will run you less than $30 and will last a lifetime. I have both and they're basically all I use. I would also either buy or simply make a leather strop. I made mine out of a 16 inch length of wood with a 14 inch length of an old leather belt I had lying around. Use epoxy to adhere the leather to the wood, and finally grab some red polishing compound (look for YouTube vids on how to apply the compound and use the strop.) I found that the strop was what made the difference between really sharp and "holy <snip>, this is literally making my arm hair just fall off" sharp.

ultrasonic cleaner does very well on cleaning stones,makes them look and cut like new

generic oven-cleaner in a covered container (to control evaporation) and left to sit for a few hours, then scrubbed with a nylon brush

pouring laquer thinner on the stone and on a piece of clean cardboard and stoning the cardboard surface. I then wipe off any lint and let them dry.

The original picture image that I downloaded some time ago, the "before" picture, seems to be more or less of not very good quality, it is not too bad, but does seem to be a little flawed, I was able to "fix" it some, but could not get it to be exactly as I wanted it.

This here below is the original image as I downloaded it (I think, but can't be sure as it was downloaded many months ago).

And here below is the "fixed" image, I can't really say that it looks better than the original one, but I think so.

Not related to this blog post. that is to this image, not directly, but indirectly, I have been trying to "hack" in a particular way a software that I bought, cause those who sell software more often than not impose some particular restrictions on the software that they sell and after all, I bought the right to fully use it, it took a while, but I think that I found a way to do what I wanted to do, I might have removed that particular restriction, I will know for sure later in the future when I will need that restriction removed then I will know if what I did worked right or not, but it does so far look as if I was able to do as I wanted to, I thought that it was going to be impossible, good thing that I didn't give up and kept on trying.

My dealings with my trying to "break" the pick 3 game so very many years ago, were also something very hard to do, but not impossible, also it was very good that I never gave-up, but I almost gave-up quite a few times.

It doesn't hurt at all to have the kind of mind that I have for these kind of things, even if I am not good at everything, probably most people are not good at everything.

For example:

Even-Odd, Low-High, In-Out, Bala-Nced, are the 52 or 5-2, Five In Two Series Of Filters-Patterns, they are the "Other Side Of The Coin" in relation to the 25 series of filters.

 

25 Is for 2-5 (Two In Five, Each Filter-Pattern).

The "25 Series" of filter patterns:

A = 0-5

B = 1-6

C = 2-7

D = 3-8

E = 4-9
