Where Do Old Bumper Cars Go?

Where Do Old Bumper Cars Go?

The ones in Coney Island, Rockaway Park and Long Beach back in the 20's thru to the 50's

Ran on electric .

Had a pole on the back going to a metal electrical charged overhead plate.

Remember driving the bumper cars at amusement parks or

a fair, don't you? They were so much fun.....Well,

Now what do you do with

Old Bumper Cars?

(and check out the license plates!)

WHO KNEW?

Yes, you read that right; these little beasties are street legal.

They run on either Kawasaki or Honda motorcycle engines and co-opt vintage bumper car bodies into the most awesome form of mini-car we've seen in too long There are seven of these little monsters floating around California and they're all the creation of one man, Tom Wright, a builder in the outskirts of San Diego who figured the leftovers of the Long Beach Pike amusement park needed a more dignified end than the trash heap.

They were originally powered by two cylinder Harley Davidson

Motorcycle engines but they rattled like heck because of the two cylinder

Vibration and Tom replaces them with four cylinder Honda or Kawasaki 750 ' s

And a couple have been measured as capable of 60 MPH, which is terrifyingly fast in machines with such a short wheelbase.

By the way, the cars are almost Indestructible in accidents!

Cowboy at the pearly gates

Cowboy at the pearly gates

A cowboy appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates.

"Have you ever done anything of particular merit?" St. Peter asked.

"Well, I can think of one thing," the cowboy offered.

"On a trip to the Big Horn Mountains out in Wyoming , I came upon a gang of bikers who were threatening a young woman.

I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen.

So, I approached the largest and most tattooed biker and smacked him in the face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground.

I yelled....... Now, back off..... or I'll kick the shit  out of all of you!"

St. Peter was impressed, "When did this happen?"

"Oh Just Couple of minutes ago."

Two Ladies: A Conversation in Heaven :-)

A Conversation in Heaven :-)

SYLVIA:

Hi Wanda!

WANDA:

Hi Sylvia How'd you die?

SYLVIA:

I froze to death.

WANDA:

How horrible!

SYLVIA:

It wasn't so bad.    After I quit shaking from

the cold, I began to get warm  and sleepy,

and finally died a peaceful death.

What about you?

WANDA:

I died of a massive heart attack.

I suspected that my husband was cheating,

so I came home early to catch him in the act.

But, instead, I found him all by himself

in the den watching TV.

SYLVIA:

So, what happened?

WANDA:

I was so sure there was another woman

there somewhere that I started running

all over the house looking.    I ran up into

the attic and searched, and down into the

basement.    Then I went through every closet

and checked under all the beds.    I kept this

up  until I had looked everywhere, and finally

I became so exhausted that I just keeled over

with a heart attack and died.

SYLVIA:

Too bad you didn't look in the freezer---

we'd both still be alive today.

Ancient religious stones hiding secret message visible at night?

Lanyon Quoit in Cornwall, England:

Mysterious messages that are only visible at night have been found at an ancient British religious site.

The incredible find suggests our Stone Age ancestors left behind hidden carvings designed to be viewed in the darkness.

However, we don’t yet know what these messages symbolize and why they were carved on the rocks.

Archaeologists led by Dr. Andy Jones of the Cornwall Archaeological Unit found 105 engravings on an axe-shaped stone called a “quoit” which lies on Hendraburnick Down, near Davidstow.

The site appears to have been used during the late Neolithic era, which is regarded as the end of the Stone Age, as well as the early Bronze Age, around 4,000 to 6,000 years ago.

It was used for strange rituals involving the “smashing” of quartz blocks

“During the field work it became apparent that the rock art was far more extensive than had first been thought, and that it was most evident when viewed in low sunlight from the southeast or by moonlight,” the academics wrote in the journal “Time and Mind.”

“It is suggested that the smashed vein quartz may have been used during night-time rituals.”

Modal TriggerThe marking on the bottom of the Hendraburnick Quoit are best viewed at night.Thomas Goskar

“Photogrammetric recording [making detailed measurements using a series of photos] revealed the site to be the most decorated stone in southern Britain and suggests that rather than being pre-planned, the art accreted over time.”

Ancient cultures often associated darkness with “the supernatural and the heightening of senses,” meaning that Hendraburnick Quoit could have played host to strange pagan religious rites.

Jones also found fragments of quartz on the site.

When two pieces of the stone are smashed together, they emit a brief, glowing light.

“The smashed quartz at Hendraburnick could have been used as part of night-time activity on the site in order to ‘release’ the luminescent properties of the quartz around the monument and ‘reveal’ the art in a particular way,” the academics wrote.

“After the ritual, the broken pieces, once they had fallen on the ground, could have effectively formed a wider platform or arc which would have continued to glisten around it in the moonlight, and thereby added to the ‘aura’ of the site.”

Hendraburnick Down is the source of the River Camel, which may have made it a potent spiritual and symbolic site.

The carvings on the fallen stone are known as “cup and ring marks.”

Hendraburnick Quoit has been at the center of a long controversy because some academics believe it is an ancient “long barrow” used to bury the dead.

However, other experts believe the stone is a natural formation while others still believe it was actually a dumping ground used during medieval times.

Jones and his team found a layer of slate beneath the 35,000-pound quoit, indicating it was dragged there from a site down in the river valley and is therefore not a natural formation.

Quoits were found across the ancient world and often feature an indentation surrounded by concentric circles, although the Cornish ones look slightly different.

The markings were mostly located in Northern Europe, but similar patterns have also been spotted as far away as Hawaii and Australia.

Jones told The Telegraph that he expects similar markings to be found at other ancient British sites.

“I think the new marks show that this site was used at night and it is likely that other… sites were as well,” he added.

“Stonehenge does have markings, and I think that many more would be found at sites across the country if people were to look at them in different light.”

Broke US Postal Service Paid Cover Employees Campaigning Hilary

Broke US Postal Service Paid To Cover Employees Campaigning For Hillary Clinton

The United States Postal Service has been on the brink of complete bankruptcy for nearly two decades, but that didn’t stop it from paying out $90,000 to cover for paid employees who took time off to campaign for Hillary Clinton. According to an Inspector General’s report, 100 USPS workers took extended leaves of absence to hit the campaign trail on behalf of the postal union—the National Association of Letter Carriers. The union, which had by then endorsed Hillary Clinton, used these same postal workers to supplement their grassroots political operations in swing states. Technically, postal workers are allowed to take unpaid holidays in order to help the union, but government employees aren’t ...

Economic Professor Illustrates Obama - Socialism, Fallacy

Obama-Socialism Illustrated ...

A college professor experimented and stunned his students proving a point about stupidity of Obama-Socialism …

An economics professor at a local college made a statement he never failed a single student before, but recently failed an entire class. That class insisted Obama's socialism worked and no one would be poor and no one would be rich;  a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment, in this class, on Obama's plan".  All grades will be averaged.  Everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A  (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, grades were averaged and everyone got a B.  The students who studied hard were upset.  And students who studied little were happy.  As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D!  No one was happy.  When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.  To their great surprise, all failedand the professor told them socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great.  But when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

  1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
  2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
  3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
  4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
  5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea it does no good to work because

somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

US soldier pledged allegiance to Islamic State Tried to Pass

HONOLULU (AP) — An active duty soldier based in Hawaii pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State group, helped purchase a drone for it to use against American forces and said he wanted to use his rifle to "kill a bunch of people," according to an FBI affidavit.

Ikaika Kang, a sergeant first class in the U.S. Army, made an initial appearance Monday in federal court in Honolulu. He was arrested Saturday on terrorism charges.

Paul Delacourt, the FBI special agent in charge of the Hawaii bureau, said Kang gave military documents to people he believed would give them to Islamic State.... later told the same source that "Hitler was right, saying he believed in the mass killing of Jews."

Issis Defies Ancient Queen's Curse By Desecrating Tomb

Meet the forgotten queen protected by a curse and crowned with gold

In a crumbling Middle Eastern palace, a woman’s coffin lay undisturbed for millennia, her remains surrounded by treasure and protected by an ancient curse. Now scientific sleuthing has revealed her identity: she was Hama, Assyrian queen of an empire. Hama died young, and perhaps suddenly, hinting at why she was interred in a bronze coffin rather than the usual stone sarcophagus. She was no more than 20, but the gold crowns and other riches in her grave signal her power and wealth.

Her power supposedly extended after death. Near Hama’s coffin was a tablet written with a curse warning, “Anyone later who removes my throne … may his spirit receive no bread!” But the curse, which was installed for another queen, didn’t stop Islamic State fighters. They blew up part of the Northwest Palace in ancient Nimrod with barrel bombs in 2015 and wrecked Mosul’s museum, which held Hama’s bronze coffin.

NEVER FORGET YOUR FRIENDS

A newlywed young man was sitting on the porch on a humid day, sipping ice tea with his Father.

As he talked about adult life, marriage, responsibilities, and obligations, the Father thoughtfully stirred the ice cubes in his glass and cast a clear, sober look on his Son.

"Never forget your friends," he advised, "they will become more important as you get older."

"Regardless of how much you love your family and the children you happen to have, you will always need friends. Remember to go out with them occasionally if possible, but keep in contact with them some how.

"What strange advice!" thought the young man. "I just entered the married world, I am an adult and surely my wife and the family that we will start will be everything I need to make sense of my life."

Yet, he obeyed his Father; kept in touch with his friends and annually increased their number. Over the years, he became aware that his Father knew what he was talking about.

Inasmuch as time and nature carry out their designs and mysteries on a person, friends are the bulwarks of our life.

After 60 years of life, here is what he (and you) will have learned:

Time passes.

Life goes on.

The distance separates.

Children grow up.

Children cease to be children and become independent. And to the parents, it breaks their heart but the children are separated of the parents.

Jobs come and go.

Illusions, desires, attraction, ....weakens.

People do not do what they should do.

The heart breaks.

The parents die. Colleagues forget the favors.

The races are over.

But, true friends are always there, no matter how long or how many miles away they are.

A friend is never more distant than the reach of a need, intervening in your favor, waiting for you with open arms or in some way blessing your life.

When we started this adventure called LIFE, we did not know of the incredible joys or sorrows that were ahead. We did not know how much we would need from each other. Love your parents, take care of your children, but keep a group of good friends. Dialogue with them but do not impose your criteria.

RADICAL AMERICAN JIHADIST-Read Quran Threats in English :-(

RADICAL AMERICAN JIHADIST

Muslim Activist Calls for Jihad Against Trump Administration in America  July 6, 2017

Linda Sarsour, the Woman’s March organizer and bombastic street-preacher for radical Islam, addressed the 54th annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America last weekend and called on all American Muslims to “stay outraged” and go on jihad against the Trump administration.

Linda Sarsour

Sarsour, on the prime-time stage of the nation’s largest Islamist organization, gave a fiery speech in which she told her audience not to assimilate into American culture.    If they are not constantly in a state of rage against the Trump administration, she said, they are traitors to Allah.

“Why sisters and brothers, why are we so unprepared? Why are we so afraid of this administration and the potential chaos that they will ensue on our community?” she asked. “I hope that when we stand up to those who oppress our communities, that Allah accepts from us that as a form of jihad.”   The theme of the June 30-July 3 ISNA convention was “Hope and Guidance through the Quran.”

Sarsour has become a rising star in the American Islamist movement. Not only did she help organize the Women’s March, she also spoke at the joint convention of the Islamic Circle of America and Muslim American Association in April. Like ISNA, both ICNA and MAS have ties to the International Muslim Brotherhood, which is the leader of the global Islamic revivalist movement.

Media Complain ‘March Against Sharia’ Is Anti-Muslim

Arabic speaker and terrorism expert Philip Haney, who co-authored the recent book “See Something Say Nothing,” said Sarsour’s choice of words are terrifying on their face, but they carry additional layers of meaning to Muslims familiar with the Quran and hadith. When heard from that perspective, her words are even more chilling, Haney said.   First off, the word “prepared” Jcarries much weight among Muslims waging Jihad – whether violent or civil jihad. It’s the same word that is embedded within the logo of the extremist Muslim Brotherhood.   “It makes you ask, what are they preparing for?” Haney said.   SARSOUR GAVE THE ANSWER: “JIHAD.” (See  Quran 8:60.)

Sarsour instructed American Muslims that they are not to assimilate into American society or to “attempt to please” anyone but Allah.

“Our number-one and top priority is to protect and defend our community,” she said. “It is not to assimilate and to please any other people in authority. Our obligation is to our young people and to protect our women in our community. And our top priority even higher than all those other priorities is to please Allah,  And only Allah.”   The Islamic obsession with the word “prepare” comes from  Quran 8:60, a passage on the spoils of war.

Quran 8:60 is the most violent verse in the entire Quran, because it calls for Muslims to prepare to terrify their enemies, Haney said.

“And it is the most violent chapter in the Quran because the whole thing is about plundering and conquering the infidel and taking their land,” he said. “So it is not coincidental that she starts off her speech by challenging her audience with ‘why are we so unprepared?”    The passage from Quran 8:60 that would immediately resonate with every Quaran-literate Muslim upon hearing Sarsour’s use of the word “prepare.”

THE VERSE STATES:

And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows. And whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.   Sarsour then asked her audience another provocative question.

“Why are we so afraid of this administration and the potential chaos that they will ensue on our community?”    Chaos is a form of “fitnah,” of which the Quran warns all Muslims.    Fitnah is a type of oppression, persecution or test brought upon by unbelievers.  And the Quran gives the foreboding advice that “fitnah is worse than slaughter,” meaning to slaughter is preferable than to be oppressed by the unbelievers.

Sarsour gives her audience the remedy, straight from the Quran, on how to deal with fitnah.    “She says chaos will ensue from this administration. Chaos is a code word for fitnah,” Haney said. “She’s saying this administration is causing fitnah,    And fitnah requires jihad.”

The ‘calamity’ of Trump revisited

Sarsour’s ISNA speech is vitally important because it’s a clarion call for average Muslims to be on their guard and ready to take drastic measures against the Trump administration and its supporters.

The exact same message was provided in more lofty verbiage by the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America, or AMJA, just a few weeks after Donald Trump’s election as president. In that document, the AMJA, which serves as the source of fatwa rulings to be followed by nearly all Sunni Muslim mosques in North America, the AMJA said that the election of Trump was a “calamity” for the American Muslim community.    Sarsour was merely channeling the November 2016 AMJA guidelines for American Muslims to stand firm against the Trump administration, the election of whom it described as a “calamity.”

“There are numerous touch points between her speech and the AMJA road map,” Haney said. “So she answers the question on why they are afraid. ‘You should expect a chaosfrom this administration. There’s your ‘calamity’ referred to in the road map. This is a mirror image of the road map, which follows the Quranic principle of fitnah and oppression.”

‘Stay perpetually outraged’    Sarsour instructs American Muslims to stay “perpetually outraged.”   “I hope that when we stand up to those that oppress our communities, that Allah excepts from us that as a form of jihad that we are struggling against tyrants and rulers not only abroad or in the Middle East or the other side of the world, but here in these United States of America where you have fascists and white supremacists and Islamophobes reigning in the White House,” she said. “We have to stay outraged.

“Do not criticize me when I say that we as a Muslim community in these United States of America have to be perpetually outraged every single day,” she continued. “When I wake up in the morning and I remember who is sitting in the White House, I am outraged.

“This is not normal, sisters and brothers. Those people sitting in the most powerful seats in the country, is not normal. So do not ever be those citizens that normalize this administration, because when the day comes that something horrific happens to us or to another community, you will be responsible for normalizing this administration.”  That’s when she reminded her audience that their top priority is to please Allah and Allah only – not the U.S. government.

“This ties into the loyalty and enmity doctrine taught by the Quran,” Haney said. “That is the mandate or requirement by Allah to love what is good and hate what is evil, and that’s what she is telling them to do. She’s not telling them to do anything that complies with state or federal law, but she is telling them to comply with pure Quranic doctrine. And when they hear these words, they know very well exactly what she’s saying: Oppose anything opposed to Islam.”   Again, this mirrors the message of the AMJA road map, which laid down the guidelines for American Muslims in the Trump era.

“They said you can be a part of this culture as long as you hate it in your heart,” Haney said. “And in case you were doubting what she meant, she says your number-one obligation as an American Muslim is loyalty to Allah and enmity toward anything that opposes Allah and, therefore, not to assimilate!”

THESE  STATEMENTS AND BELIEFS ARE NOT SIMPLY “FREEDOM OF SPEECH” BECAUSE THEY  DEFY THE CONSITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES.  America must protect herself against radicals who would damage or cause harm to our institutions.  Those who spout these hatreds should be prosecuted for sedition or at the very least they should be deported and their citizenship revoked.  These radicals are not part of our “melting pot”.

*Conservative news sites are targeting radical activist Linda Sarsour again, this time for using the word “jihad” in a speech to a mainly Muslim audience.

Speaking in Chicago at the annual Islamic Society of North America convention over the weekend, Sarsour, an organizer of January’s Women’s March, discussed what it means to be a patriot in the United States.

New York Post: The secret reason child-welfare agencies fail :-(

The secret reason child-welfare agencies fail

Women should stop complaining about ‘mommy shaming’ — and take the advice

Sorry: Welcoming intermarriage isn't going to save the Jews

Hollywood directors have turned their backs on families

Hormone therapy is a horrible risk for kids

Can a new religious movement save America from drug addiction?

David Hansell  has a tough road ahead of him.

It’s not only because  the recently appointed head of the Administration for Children’s Services has to clean up the mess left by his predecessor, on whose watch 58 children with ACS files died. It’s also because Hansell, like the leaders of other organizations overseeing the welfare of our most vulnerable children, doesn’t have the workforce he needs.

The most obvious problem is simply retention. According to a report from the Child Welfare Workforce Institute, yearly turnover rates nationally can exceed 30 percent. While low pay and high levels of stress are frequently cited as reasons people leave these jobs so quickly, the truth is much more varied and systemic.

Richard Gelles of the University of Pennsylvania tells me that “the majority of workers are what I refer to half-jokingly as 24-year-old art history majors.” In other words, they’re people who have a liberal-arts degree and are simply going to receive training as a child-welfare worker once they’re hired. Depending on the agency where they go, they could be out shadowing other workers for a few months or they could be given their own clients after a much shorter amount of time.

The experience often does not match the expectations of young men and women who get into this field wanting to help children and families. These jobs entail far more than counseling. And often these workers can by definition have an antagonistic relationship with families because they are scrutinizing the way parents deal with their children and the workers may have the power to remove the children entirely.

The requirements to be a supervisor at one of these agencies are somewhat more stringent. But nationally less than 40 percent of child-welfare workers are social workers,  according to Joan Zlotnik, a senior consultant for the National Association of Social Workers. People think “all the child-welfare workers have preparation, and that’s not the case.”

Gelles agrees that a surprising number of people in supervisory roles at these agencies have MBAs or Masters of Divinity degrees, but little training in social work. Yet social-work programs aren’t giving workers adequate training, either.

For one thing, they’re often boxed in by political correctness in an industry where that can be deadly. Take  Hunter College’s social-work program, which offers a two-semester course exploring “poverty in the context of oppression, diversity and social justice.” You can minor in community organizing, too.

Or Columbia,  which offers a course that “fosters students to challenge bias, prejudice and forms of discrimination that operate in the lives of social workers and our clients ... Learning begins with hands-on participation in a series of interactive exercises designed to elicit and deconstruct dynamics of racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, heterosexism, classism, etc.”

Gelles says it’s inevitable that social-work schools would want to focus on such issues. He warns his students, “you will face a situation where your clients are disproportionately from minority families and they view you as a child snatcher who is racist by definition. That will put a lot of burden on you.” But classes on understanding racism are of limited use in preparing to work through these obstacles.
