CHESTERFIELD, Va. — The clock is ticking on a Mega Millions ticket worth a quarter-of-a-million dollars.
The ticket was purchased last October in Chesterfield, Virginia, and no one has come forward to claim the prize. If the ticket is not redeemed by 5 p.m. Monday, it will expire.
The $250,000 ticket was bought at a gas station across from the Chesterfield County Courthouse on Oct. 13. The buyer matched the first five numbers to win the regional game's second-biggest payout.
The winning numbers from that drawing were 17, 31, 34, 45, and 51. The Mega Ball number was 24.
I don't buy tickets from that gas station so...it isn't me.
Virginia Lottery Players: Wake Up and check your Old Tickets before it's too Late!
I hope they didn't throw it away!
Get the old "shoebox" and check those tickets.....tic toc goes the clock !!!
And I am no where near Virginia, so I know it isn't me.
Bet it was somebody going to court across the street who went in the gas station to get a cup of coffee or a pack of smokes and bought the ticket on the spur of the moment, threw it in the glove compartment or console where it's still laying forgotten about right now. They'll come across it in a few months when they're looking for something else, notice the date is expired and throw it away, never being the wiser. And when you think about it, they're probably better off not knowing at that point.
that and or thar doing hard time ....
wish it had been me but then I'd probably end up giving part of it to our wonderful host Todd
I use to buy tickets put them up and forget about them...nasty habit I had a few years ago...I wouldn't doubt it if I had a big win a few years back and didn't check the tickets and tossed them out.
I DO NOT DO THAT ANY MORE!
I did the same thing years ago when the lottery first started. There's no tellin' what I threw out and I wouldn't want to know now!
oh no..............
You buy so many tickets and lose so many times that you sometimes just pile them up
somewhere after you buy them hoping one day you will check them.
Kentucky has a $200,000 Powerball ticket that expires on April 22 and an unclaimed $250,000 Mega Millions ticket from January. Almost three quarters of $1 million in just two states alone!
Hopefully, someone comes forward before it's too late.
4 hours to go...I bet it goes unclaimed.
