I use to do something like that with Powerball. I would purchase all the powerball numbers 1 - 40(Before the changed it) and would play quick picks for 20 tickets and mark all the other tickets randomly. The most I won at once was $100 . I spent a ton of money and didnt even get close to the jackpot. I believe a stratgey like that will work with a lottery that doesnt have a  lot of digits which explains why and how this guy won. If he is a financial advisory the last thing he should do is gamble his winnings in the stock market. I would close shop and run for the hills...

I wonder if it was How to Win the Lottery or if the book was How to Win Games of Chance by Kenneth Dickkerson.  I wish he would have specified.  or was it Wheeling that he used?  Geeeze!

Based on the fact they played every bonus number, I strongly suspect it was a wheel.  (See my previous post near the start of this thread.)

God help anyone using something written by Dickkerson.  Several screws loose with that guy.

Maybe since he cracked the code one time he will invest all of his winnings in more tickets.  LOL

In regards to Dickkerson, I saw him in the documentary "Lucky" (about lotteries, lottery players, etc. ) & I could not agree with you more.

Whether the winning combo was a QP or not, or birthdays, or ages, or hot and cold numbers, etc..ad nauseum, the fact that a combo he played was the combo drawn still comes down to luck.

                  And what is Luck. hmmm

                  L=laboring U=under C=correct K=knowledge

And at the time he was laboring under correct knowledge.  It was spot on.  C'mon Coin Toss, luck adds up to a lot of things.

                  Hurray!Congratulations to him!

                  Tenaj,

And sometimes things are due to nothing but just luck.

Say you're at a baseball game and get up to go to the concession stand or something and right after you do the batters hits a line drive foul ball that would have really injured you.

Not much planning or correct knowledge in that, such things just happen that way.

Take the guy in Iowa, he was about to give up and decided to play one more time. Not luck?

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                  Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

First of all , i want to say congrads to Larry Dawson and his family from Webster City ia. for winning the Hot Lotto jackpot.   I only wish it had been me that won becoz my family is going thru alot of troubles and i could have helped them so much with this win.

I do want to say that it is really strange how Webster City ia.  has been so lucky lately.   I have found out that the lottery does control where the  big winning scratch off tickets will go to.   Webster City has had alot of big wins lately,   the last 3 or so months , they have had   1 -  1 million dollar winner,   1-  100,000 winner and a 25, 0000  winner.   and now the big Hot Lotto winner of over 9 million !    Did you know that 3 of these wins were at a dif Docs stop in webster city,  well its true .   I  think that if the hot lotto wins are sometimes controlled to make head lines in the news ,  than that is not fair to the rest of us !

AGAIN,   I'M HAPPY FOR YOU LARRY DAWSON AND YOUR FAMILY,  I HOPE YOU WILL DO SOME GOOD THINGS WITH THIS MONEY AND I'M SURE YOU WILL.  GOD BLESS !       jOHN-   jonstrue2u

He's not your average financial advisor.

Most fa's would advise against even playing the lotto, much less buying a book on how to win.

His win doesn't validate any published system...by buying all of the +1 Hot Lotto numbers, he merely gave himself "a chance" to win something regardless which 5 numbers were drawn.  So I wouldn't rush out to buy any book just because he won.  I have always thought that if I win a jackpot, I would employ such a strategy for every drawing with the goal of winning a lot of 2nd tier prize money...this way I would be able to "anonymously" blessed certain people without running afoul of Uncle Sam...who is most assuredly looking to grab every penny it can to fund all those entitlement programs.

Also, I think Iowa and Indiana were two states that allowed one to even select just a few "lucky" numbers in the 5+1 field and then have the computer fill in the rest whereas I think most only give one the option of either QP the entire 5 number field and/or the +1 field.  So for those who have 1, 2, or even just 3 "must play numbers", they could fill those in and the computer would fill in the rest.  I am not certain if this is still the case after the Powerball/MegaMillions availability in more states (some states changed aspects of their associated games like Illinois now offers Megaplier for MegaMillions) and I no longer make the drive to Indiana, Wisconsin, or Iowa to play Powerball since I can do that in Illinois...so I don't know what the case is there in Iowa.  Perhaps some Iowans can chime in on the specifics of the Hot Lotto/Powerball playing selection options.

Get MONEY!!! Winning a JACKPOT lottery is all the HOPE and CHANGE I desire!!!  NOW give me MONEY!US Flag

The guy who won the presidency in 2008 really won the lottery...he is now millions richer, travels in first class style, and even has a staff that would be the envy of the richest Powerball winner (she has a staff of 2). Every night he goes to sleep, he probably plays the close of Dave Chappelle's Show: I'm rich beyatch!

I'm not familiar with Hot Lotto.

Is it possible to select all your bonus balls and get the other numbers by Quick Pick?

Don't know about Iowa but in Idaho you can QP the 5 white balls, and separately QP the bonus ball.
