Second-largest Jersey Cash 5 jackpot in game history
TRENTON, N.J. — One winning Jersey Cash 5 ticket worth $1,930,747 was sold in Middlesex County, New Jersey, for the Monday, April 22 drawing.
The Middlesex County winning ticket was bought at In & Out Convenience Store, 187 North Avenue, Dunellen. This is the second largest jackpot in the game's history.
Jersey Cash 5 was introduced to New Jersey players back in September 1992 and remains a very popular player favorite. The largest Jersey Cash 5 jackpot was $1,964,441 which was hit on October 23, 2007. The third-largest jackpot was $1,594,280, which was hit on May 27, 2011.
New Jersey Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger said the winning ticket was the only one sold for Monday's drawing that matched all five numbers drawn. The winning numbers were: 02, 18, 29, 31 and 38.
Store owner Devendra Kapadia said, "We have no idea who the lucky person is but we are very happy and glad for them."
"We are thrilled that the winning jackpot ticket was sold at In & Out Convenience Store," said Hedinger. "For selling this ticket, they will receive a bonus check for $750. Overnight, they have become one more 'lucky location' for the very fortunate lottery winner."
Hedinger also noted that 16,106 other players won $443,102 in cash prizes in the Monday drawing. For correctly picking four numbers, 430 players won cash prizes of $593.00 each and for correctly matching three numbers, 15,676 players won $12.00 each.
