MIAMI, Fla. — Someone who bought a Mega Money lottery ticket over the summer in south Miami-Dade is a millionaire and may not even know it.

To make matters worse, unless they come forward in the next week or so they will be out of luck.

Florida lottery officials said a Mega Money ticket sold June 18th at Davis Market, at 21630 Southwest 120th Avenue, is worth $1.3 million. However, it remains unclaimed. The 180 day limit to claim the jackprize expires on December 15th.

The winning numbers drawn on June 18th were 10, 28, 34, and 43, with Mega Ball number 19.

While any Florida Lottery retailer can validate the winning ticket, the Mega Money jackpot must be claimed at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

Mega Money is a $1 jackpot game, drawn twice weekly, in which players win the jackpot by matching 4-of-4 winning numbers and the Mega Ball number. Mega Money jackpots start at $500,000 and can roll over to up to $2 million if there isn't a jackpot winner. When the Mega Money jackpot reaches $2 million and there is no jackpot winner, the jackpot rolls down and increases the payouts on the seven lower-tier prize levels.

Since the game's inception, more than 123 million Mega Money winners have won more than $794 million in prizes. Of these, 805 players won more than $332 million in jackpot prizes.

Here we go again. How does one " forget" about a lottery ticket worth millions?
Might as well hang a sign around your neck which reads " Owner of winning lottery ticket- money not needed though".

$1.3 million is nothing to sneeze at.  Even after taxes, that can help you buy a nice house or several high-end vehicles.  Or, it could give you a little bit of financial security like a little nest egg.  I hope the winner checks their ticket and claims their prize.

Hopefully the winner/s claim it before it expires.

Lottery subscription is good because the lottery organization contacts you when you win. The problem with subscription is you don't get to change the numbers from week to week.

Why play, if you are not gonna check your ticket?.  Oh I forgot, the constitution also protects stupidity.

I can't stand reading these articles about unredeemed tickets. I really dont get it. I treat and protect all my tickets like they are winners until i validate them. (maybe why i never win) hahahhaha

Crazy huh? I really don't get it. Respect the game. Respect the ticket. Respect the Win.

These stories are almost as depressing as hearing Ben Affleck will play Batman.
