Police said Thursday that two officers carrying out routine checks at an arcade in the western city of Bochum, Germany, late last week discovered that a man playing a slot machine faced an arrest warrant.
He had been ordered to pay a €710 (US$910) fine or go to prison for 71 days after resisting police during a previous incident.
Police say that as officers informed the man that he faced arrest, the slot machine started to flash and the beaming 37-year-old won a jackpot of €1,000 (about US$1,300).
The man paid his fine on the spot — in cash.
Thanks to hearsetrax for the tip.
Do Germans deserve miracles, I wonder? What a coincidence...I was just curious since I have a neighbor and until now has remained a Natzi in her past 80's...
lol...oh well it's a slot...
Lady Luck can have an odd sense of humor at times.
It happened in the Dorstener Straße. I just wonder how much money he put into the machines before winning. Gamblers say that those machines pay.
Schwein gehabt! Maybe you want to go gamble there!
My bad...
Do police over there cruise around with receipt books or do they use honor system? He won just at the right time.
lucky for him.
Yeah, cuz there was once a time in Germany where they'd have just pulled out a Lugar and shot him.
Perfect timing...... and he still pocketed(US$390).
Well dont that beat all, its crazy to see luck like that happen. Its amazing
Good thing he: didn't feel afraid, was able to continue thinking of current purpose, and allowed monies wanted most to come! I feel joyful about this story!
