A South Carolina grandma has big plans for her jackpot lottery prize.

Jennifer Flannery was on her way to work and in a bad mood when she stopped at a gas station in Spartanburg and bought a Queen of Hearts scratch-off lottery ticket for $10, according to a release from the South Carolina Education Lottery.

She scratched the ticket when she got to work and then told her boss she had to leave when she saw she won $250,000, the release says.

"I was shaking and hyperventilating," Flannery told lottery officials.

She told lottery officials she plans to use the money to adopt her grandchildren.

Flannery said that she and her husband have been raising their grandchildren since they were 6 and 4 months old but haven't been been able to afford adoption.

"We've had a hard life. And you know, raising our grand-babies, it's been tough for us," she said.

After they adopt them, they're going to take their first family vacation, she told lottery officials.

The gas station where Flannery bought the ticket, a Speedway on East Main Street, got a $2,500 commission, according to the lottery.

There are four jackpot prizes of $250,000 left in the game, the lottery says. The odds of winning are 1 in 936,000.

Congratulations to her.   Trying my best to reserve judgment on her own child(ren) not being able to raise the kids, but not walking in their shoes, so not for me to say.    $250K will help for a short period of time and I sincerely applaud her and hubby for adopting those innocent children!

"Shaking and hyperventilating" over a prize of $250,000.00  Before taxes.  Good news for her family. She has been rewarded for her unselfishness.

As i know a few who would be LOLhpyerventilating, awww she sound wonderful.

i am so happy for her. A parent or "parents"who can't seemingly raise their own child due to either

-drugs and or alcohol or illness

-Not "mentally mature enough yet"to take care of the babies, the children etc.al.,

(not sure) but i m in support ofa family member having first dibs to raise the kid before a stranger,

but at times, social services(cps, dss sc.or nc,va. dss child protection services )etc., they make it so fricken hard,

so i am glad the kids will be with the grandparents, God-willing soon. How nice!

GOD IS GOOD and he is now blessing u, ma'am, Party with the BEST firm money can buy,

in the south or west or east coast anywhere,to yes!

ADOPT all the kids easier, with cash on hand, a great law firm,so GOD bless u.

I absolutely LOVE this winner's story.God bless her.

"Trying my best to reserve judgment on her own child(ren)"

Maybe both of the parents are in jail or maybe they're both eating out of dumpsters when they're not trying to score some meth, but there are also plenty of reasons completely beyond their control that could explain why the grandparents are raising the kids.

Everyone Always SO Judgmental....

Anyone Stop to THINK For a Second Maybe Those Children's Parents are No longer on this Earth?

Due to Illness, Car accident, Serving their Country, Natural Disaster or for whatever Reason Beyond Their or anyone else's Control???

At least these two Children Have Grandparents who Want to Raise them. Many Don't even have that...

I have My Eldest granddaughter Most of the time To help out My SON so He can work, When he's not @ work He Spends all his time with his Daughter... He's a Wonderful Dad and Was Raised without One Himself...

And her "mom" Has a New life with a New Family!   Which Is Fine If that's the way she wants it? I Keep Praying that some day "mom" will realize what All She is missing out on.

But Either way at least We know she is Well cared for, Very much Loved, Well feed and Is Safe.
