One month left for two significant lottery prizes

Two significant lottery prizes won in Massachusetts, one $50,000 Powerball prize and the other for $100,000 in Mass Cash, are nearing their expiration date.

A $100,000 Mass Cash prize and $50,000 Powerball prize will expire soon in Massachusetts, with just one month left on the clock to claim them.

The Massachusetts Lottery released an announcement on Friday about two unclaimed prizes of substantial amounts, which are both poised to reach their end dates in January.

If neither of the prizes are claimed by their respective expiration dates, then the winnings will be allocated to Lottery profits that are ultimately returned to the state.

The first is a Mass Cash ticket worth $100,000, which was purchased at West Main Gas & Diesel on West Main Street in Hyannis and matched all five winning numbers in the Jan. 20, 2025 drawing: 10,16,17,18, and 31. If the winner wants their prize, they have to claim it by the end of the day on Jan. 21, 2026.

The winning ticket for the unclaimed $50,000 Powerball prize was bought at Morrissey Boulevard Wines & Liquors on Morrissey Boulevard in Dorchester. This ticket matched four white ball numbers plus the Powerball number in the Jan. 18, 2025 draw, which resulted in winning numbers 14, 31, 35, 64, and 69, with red Powerball number 23. The final day to claim that prize is Jan. 20, 2026.

Since these prizes are both valued under $103,000, they can each be claimed at one of the Lottery's claim centers located in Braintree, Dorchester, Lawrence, New Bedford, West Springfield, and Worcester. Prizes of over $103,000 must be claimed at Lottery headquarters in Dorchester.

The odds of matching all five numbers in Mass Cash are 1 in 324,632. A full list of odds and corresponding prizes can be viewed on the Prizes and Odds page.

Mass Cash drawings can be viewed online on the Lottery's official YouTube channel and Facebook page. Results are available on Lottery Post's Massachusetts Lottery Results page. Each play costs $1.

The next Powerball annuity jackpot estimate for the drawing on Saturday, Dec. 20 currently stands at $1.5 billion.

Powerball is currently offered for sale in 45 states, plus Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Tickets cost $2 each.

Powerball lottery results are published within minutes of the drawing at USA Mega (www.usamega.com). The USA Mega website provides lottery players in-depth information about the United States' two biggest multi-state lottery games, Mega Millions and Powerball.

Well I hope they find/remember and cash in for a truly wonderful new year.🍾

Hoping that these two tickets are cashed in.

Maybe there waiting for January to roll around for a new tax year?

Just bought seven PB (straight) for the folks @ Derby City Gaming employees.   Churchill Downs won't allow gifts to be opened on their premises...so they will get surprised.

Powerball is now 1.6 billion, people have been chasing this jackpot for months, yet two winning tickets out there likely to go unclaimed. Makes no sense

Even though it's 50K and 100K the carelessness continues. Is it really that difficult to safeguard your tickets??

After expiration date - I wish they would put those in a must win draw and award 10K each - that would be a good present to the winners.

Both amounts are decent sums. I mean that is grocery shopping for years and years 😊
