50% more prizes and tickets: Minnesota Millionaire Raffle goes bigger
By Kate Northrop
Tickets for the Minnesota Lottery's Minnesota Millionaire Raffle are on sale now, and this year's game is going considerably bigger than last year.
This year, the Minnesota Lottery is doubling its million-dollar top prizes, expanding every other prize tier, and increasing the total number of available tickets by 50%.
The annual game went on sale on Tuesday, Oct. 20, continuing the game's long tradition of making New Year's Day millionaires in Minnesota.
At $10 per ticket, there's a catch: these raffle tickets tend to sell out well before the New Year's Eve deadline, and it remains to be seen whether year's expanded ticket count will still be enough. Last year's game sold out in just 14 days, the fastest sellout in the game's 20-year history. The previous year's game sold out in 15 days.
The raffle features four $1 million grand prizes as compared to two from last year's game, as well as six $100,000 prizes, six $50,000 prizes, six $25,000 prizes, 20 $10,000 prizes, 1,000 $500 prizes, 1,100 $200 prizes, 8,000 $100 prizes, and 20,000 $50 prizes.
Every tier of prizes has either grown or multiplied compared to last year's raffle. Not only have the million-dollar prizes doubled, but so have the $10,000 prizes (from 10 to 20). The lower-tier prize pool has also dramatically expanded, including a tenfold jump in $500 prizes (from 100 to 1,000) and the addition of thousands more $100 and $50 winning tickets.
The one tier not returning is the $20,000 prize level, which was a one-time addition in last year's draw to celebrate the Minnesota Lottery's 20th anniversary. In its place, players will find a reshaped prize structure that spreads more wins across the field rather than concentrating at a single commemorative tier.
Overall odds of winning any prize are approximately the same, moving from 1 in 50 last year to 1 in 49.76 this year.
In total, more than 30,000 cash prizes are up for grabs, a 50% jump from the 20,000 prizes offered in 2026, and the most the Millionaire Raffle has ever featured in its 20-year history.
The game first debuted in 2006 and has become a Minnesota holiday tradition. Since the game launched, 40 raffle millionaires have been made in the state.
Ticket sales are ongoing and will run through midnight on Dec. 31, 2026 or until all 1.5 million tickets have been sold, whichever comes first. Players can purchase raffle tickets at approximately 3,000 official retailers statewide. Results will be announced on Jan. 1, 2027.
