Michigan Lottery

One ticket matched all the Michigan Lottery WinFall numbers drawn Wednesday to win a jackpot of more than $5.4 million.

The winning ticket matched the numbers six, 11, 14, 17, 22 and 25. It was sold at a Farmer Jack supermarket in the Detroit suburb of Hazel Park, the Michigan Lottery said.

The last time a player matched all six numbers to win the twice-weekly WinFall drawing was July 16, 2003. The jackpot is disbursed to players matching three or more numbers once it exceeds $5 million.

Forty-eight tickets matched five of the numbers drawn Wednesday to win $2,500 each, and 2,321 tickets matched four numbers to win $100 apiece. Prizes of $5 will go to 38,934 players who matched three of the numbers.

The jackpot for Saturday's drawing is $2 million.

Thats one thing that stinks about this game.  Someone might win the jackpot haha.  I mean with all those low numbers there was a pretty good chance that someone would take home the big prize but if someone does then it screws the other winners that matched 3, 4, or 5 numbers.  But with the amount of tickets that one in last nights drawing those prizes would be lower then usual anway.  Well I guess we will have to wait until the next drawing which will probably take place around April 14.

CASH Only

The one flaw in this game is that the $5 million "maximum" is a SOFT cap-  a jackpot winner can collect MORE than the $5m, as in this case.

IMO the excess ~400k should be added to the next jackpot            rollover series.

Thats funny because I was just thinking of the same thing.  That $5,000,000 should be the cap no matter what happens.  They should do it that way to get things started in the next series.

i hate the idea of a jackpot cap in general.  it only really works with smaller prize amount games (I.E. Michigan Rolldown).  it's like the state is saying that there's no way they can have an in-state game that will compare to a multi-state game.  the michigan lottery should at least increase the jackpot cap to around 10,15, or 20 million, or even better, get rid of the jackpot cap.  how often does someone match all 6 numbers in that game anyway?  think about the rollovers if nobbody matched all the numbers for so many drawings.
