What is your experience??
RJOh, That really sounds convenient with the banks in Ohio. These are the rules in Illinois: For prizes up to $600 Most local lottery retailers will cash winning tickets that are less than $600. Their ability to cash winning tickets is subject to fund availability and the individual retailer s preference. You can also cash lower denomination winning lottery tickets (less than $600) at any of the Prize Claim Centers around the state. If you can t make it to a Prize Claim Center, you c

Illinois and the other non-anonymous states need to learn from this
OK, we had a record breaking jackpot won by people in three states, two of those states allow remaining anonymous, and the people in those two states have claimed their jackpots. The remaining winner, from Illinois, a non-anonymous state has not. In Illinois, it's plastered on the terminal monitors where you buy your ticlets, Illinois record winner, Red Bud..... No doubt they're dying to put a name on there. A female clerk where I buy tickets sometimes was talking about thos today and s

State Lottery Advice to Winners
I cut and paste the advice printed on the Illinois Lottery website below the dotted lines. I have highlighted the words of advice they give to anyone winning over $1 million. In my opinion, that is absolutely terrible advice! Personally, when I win, I will not even tell my mom because that would be the same as calling your entire address book, as was portrayed in the movie Lottery Ticket. What do you think LP? -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Illinois Lottery Voluntary Self Exclsusion Program
From the Illinois lottery website: ILLINOIS LOTTERY VOLUNTARY SELF-EXCLUSION PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND FAQ s Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program The Illinois Lottery offers a program that allows a person to ban him/herself from receiving lottery prizes over $600 as well as any direct-mail or e-mail lottery promotional materials. The agreement bars those individuals who sign it from receiving payment for winning Illinois Lottery tickets at the lottery's five prize payment centers or throug

I've read that Illinois Anonymous , is it true / false.
I have heard back from the Illinois Lottery. Lottery winners in the state can indeed remain anonymous if they win $250,000 or more. However, keep in mind, as is the case in many or all of these anonymous states, an open records request possibly can be used to dig out the winner's identity. Kudos to the Illinois Lottery for mentioning this possibility. Rarely do you see a state being up-front about this. I have updated the Illinois information on the Anonymity thread, and I have also placed a

Illinois IOUs and the Halloween Raffle
If Illinois pays the raffle winners and not those who have won more than $25K - now reduced to more than $600 things might get quite interesting. If they do pay raffle winners and justify by saying raffle winners out of what the raffle took in it will get even more interesting. Since they're promoting the Halloween raffle if they don't plan on paying the winners immediately that's an insult to the players. What do you say? Especially those in Illinois.

Illinois Halloween Raffle
Considering the budget fiasco in Illinois and the non-payment of any prize of $25,000 or more, does it make any sense to buy tickets this time? This would be a great chance for the players to send a signal to the lottery but far too many of them aren't even aware of what's going on. What do you say? If you were in Illinois would you buy a raffle ticket for this one?

Illinois' Turn
In the past, NY, CA, and OH have had more than their fair share of MM winners and PA, ID, IN, and RI more than their fair share of PB winners. Here's hoping that this is Illinois' time to shine for MM and PB winners. So far, two MM winners this year and I am hoping for more with the ability to buy subscriptions and online. What I am really saying is I hope it is MY time to shine, and I will be beaming from ear to ear when I come claim that jackpot check! I will be so happy that I will tell the w

Illinois lottery drama
I wonder if you guys can give me some advice. My dad plays the Illinois Lottery frequently. 6 years ago he went into a convenience store and scanned the ticket but it said to see the clerk. When he gave the ticket to the clerk, the guy tried to talk to him about some other topic and finally told him his ticket wasn't a winner. He noticed the clerk was no longer working there after a couple of weeks and asked the other clerk what happened...he said the guy won 3 million in the lotto and went back
