both pb and mm insane high- what you think of them
MM in my state (Ohio) pays out $68 million (give or take $500,000) after cash option and taxes. Not bad at all.

Boy, talk about disappointment!
chase small prize winnings I don't consider a million dollars to be a small chunk of change. When I looked at the results and noticed 3 people in FL hit the 5 white balls, I wondered how much happier the players who picked PP felt. $1 = $200,000 and $2 = $1,000,000 Yes, it would be great to win $200,000 but after taxes it wouldn't be life changing. For me, if I ended up with $700,000 after taxes, I would have enough to live on until I die.

State Taxes if you live in another state
Does anyone know if you live in GA and were to win the powerball in TN or SC, do you pay the state tax of the state you played in or the state you live in......or do you have to pay both? Reason I ask, I travel for work to both states, live in GA, and can buy tickets in either place. SC has a 7% state tax, while TN has none? Cash value at this point would be 75M in TN, and 68 M in SC, a significant difference. Also, if you were to win in TN, could you personally move your residence to TN before

MM/PB Jackpot Sizes
I dont see any problem with sharing tickets only from drawings where the jackpot is over a certain threshold. You definitely can't limit the sharing to jackpots of a certain size, because that would be a tacit acknowledgement that you are sharing the jackpot rather than the ticket. An agreement that says that you are buying and immediately gifting shares of a ticket for any drawing where the advertised jackpot (specifying either annuity or cash value) is at or beyond some threshold should be cle

Hoosier Lotto
The $500K increase is an annuity increase, which includes interest gained for the annuity value payed out in 29 payments over 30 years. The cash increase is determined by ticket sales. Also, just because one state profits more percentage wise from its lottery profits than other states, doesn't automatically make it a bad thing. People are so quick to say the state steals their money(e.g. taxes). People need to look into reality and realize that they benefit from this in a way too. If all taxes w

Should PB MM be tax-free/lump sum
If you're married and filing jointly the 35% rate kicks in at $336,550. Social Security taxes only apply to earned income, but both earned and unearned income are taxed at the regular rate unless specific conditions are met, such as capital gains on investments that are held long enough. Anything you earn on the 10% that isn't withheld would be taxed at the same 35% unless it qualifies for the reduced capital gains rate. As a practical matter you aren't likely to have that money invested for

MM Jackpot Winner 7/6
Dido Hi-Fi......I seriously wouldn't be that thrilled winning a measly 5 million after taxes at a $15million jackpot when the odds are over 1 in 176 million. I usually start to play when the cash option after taxes is over $40M. Then I find it worth it. Brad
