Balancing Odds and Cost 😁
A lot of players talk about or are thinking about value when buying a lottery ticket. That's fine if that's important to a player. Given the odds of winning any jackpot, the value is always a negative. I respect the length people go to when calculating that value it would be interesting to see the same approach towards the purchase a pack of cigarettes or beer When I buy tickets all I'm thinking about is What could/would I do with it if I won a big pile of money? I am with you

Balancing Odds and Cost 😁
A lot of players talk about or are thinking about value when buying a lottery ticket. That's fine if that's important to a player. As for me personally, because of the ridiculous odds against players, I don't give value any thought at all. When I buy tickets all I'm thinking about is What could/would I do with it if I won a big pile of money? I know and accept the fact that I'll probably never actually have the pleasure of making that decision. My attitude is if I don't win, it's no bi

DC 5 Lottery needs to be audited immediately. The same thing that happened to Tennessee in 2007

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Curious where the regulars land: is the multiplier value enough to justify 2.5x the ticket price, or does it just price out the casual players who drove ticket volume? I would consider myself a regular MM player. I do not focus a lot on the crazy odds of winning, that doesn't help me I am driven more by the fun of planning for a win, the immediate impact that would have on me and my family line and also a desire to prove to myself that not all lottery winners are dumb losers .

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Yeah, well whatever. I can see the numbers, as can anyone who bothers to look intelligently . If one is unintelligent, that's another matter. It is something called a fact that the $5 version of Megamillions ran for 40 draws without producing a billion dollar (annuity) jackpot. It is also a fact that the pretax expectation value has never gone beyond 0.5, something Powerball, as well as the $2.00 MM did a number of times. If one looks at expectation values, it's immediately obvious to anyone

Powerball is coming to the U.K.
I am so excited about this new development. I was wondering when will it finally happen. I don't stand to loose anything. Odds are the same. Ticket price is the same. For me it's like adding Nevada or Utah to the lottery, I won't throw a fit because of that. Unfortunately, many people don't like losing to California (me included ) so the thought of losing to another country is unbearable to them (not me ) If anyone thinks that their Country deserves to win the World Cup, oh w

is it luckier to buy tickets on the rich side of town?
This is a classic question in sociology and applied economics, and the answer is well-documented by demographic studies and market research in the United States (such as data from the Brookings Institution, the Tax Foundation, and various state lotteries). The direct answer is: people from all social classes play, but the financial impact, frequency, and motivation are profoundly different between the poorest and the wealthiest. Here is the breakdown of how lottery consumption
