Population of US over 18. There are approximately 267 million adults (age 18 and over) in the United States. This adult demographic represents roughly 78-78.5% of the total U.S. population, which is estimated to be 342.6 million Mega Million odds 1 in 290,472,336 Power Ball odds 1 in 292,201,338 If every adult in the US bought one ticket with no exact duplicates there would still be 23.4 and 25.2 million tickets unsold. The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Raffles are the one lottery format where the odds are fully knowable up front fixed ticket pool, fixed prizes, no randomness in the denominator once sales cap. Kind of refreshing after the draw games where you're staring down 1-in-300-million. Does FL cap the ticket count this time, or is it open-ended?

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
467M and still climbing. These rollovers run forever since they stretched the odds a few years back doesn't change a single ticket's chances but it sure keeps the headline numbers fat. You grabbing one for Tuesday's draw, or sitting this run out?

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
It'll pick up in the last week or so. The few days prior to the past drawings, the pace picked up to 5000+ per day. Which still isn't a ton, but it's more than 2000. I imagine that it'll pick up more than that ahead of the final drawing for the big bucks. I think we'll be at around 400,000 sold, unless the last pop ends up being significant. I've been calculating my personal odds with a final figure of 450k, to be safe.

is it luckier to buy tickets on the rich side of town?
No, the neighborhood doesn't matter. What does matter though is that wealthier people can afford to cut their odds by buying multiple tickets per draw.

Texas Lotto
Spot on. The raw odds don't lie. Most people just burn money chasing individual picks blindly. That's why backtesting past densities and filtering out statistically trash combinations is the only way to play smart, even if it's just to minimize the damage lol.

Like I said, I don't play all of them. Only what I feel... And I don't play every day or (draw) but thanks for the info. It only means I still have work to do to better my odds

Rising Gas Prices and the Lottery
Nehhhh....I have a coworker that's habitually late since 2022 and that takes care of any normal weekly purchases .....The only thing that affects my lottery play is the cost of rising lottery prices and games with foolish odds. One or the other or both would be the culprit for non participation.
