states without lotteries
Having lived there also I found Hawaii to be the most racist state, far more than the south. Also politics there is close to Lousiana so you'll be waiting a long time to see a lottery there. Too many seem to hate whitey and hate the US. If lotteries seem like it's a good tax stream in the 48 then Hawaii would appose it just on principle.

Second-largest lottery jackpot in US history won
By the way, congratulations also goes to all the residents of Oregon. In addition to all the excess money spent on lottery tickets, your lucky state is picking up between $13 million and $14 million in state tax revenue on the jackpot prize, should the winner take the cash option.Almost all of that money is all coming from other states into the State of Oregon.I don't know much about the politics in Orgeon, so I hope your state is run by fiscal conservatives, who won't blow it all on entitleme

In the words of Sir Walter Scott...Oh what tangled webs we weave when first we practice to deceive. This holds true for politics, the justice system and indeed the original posters inquiry.

Powerball lottery madness spreads to big media
Why would it be surprising if CNN et al get it wrong. Since when do they check facts on something. They are just more interested in the politics of an issue than the facts of an issue.

Should criminals collect jackpots?
Shawnintennesse- I know that there is some corruption not only in Tennessee but most likely in every state of the union. I also know there is some corruption in politics, sports, corporations, clergy, boy scouts, police departments, and God knows what else.Implying that all cops are corrupt is wrong. What you're doing is taking a group of people and putting a label on them that is not justified or deserved.

Drug dealer must forfeit lottery jackpot
But, you're definitely right. You don't have to go far outside US borders to find it worse, or as bad. My impression is that Canada's okay, but I couldn't stand the cold. Britain's probably not too bad, but you'd have to put up with Brits. Aussies, even they don't like the politics down there. Everywhere else is full of people from everywhere else.... I'll live out my years in the US if they let me.Jack

Calif. Lottery uses trick as Dems continue undermining Mega Millions
Jack,I hear ya, but this doesn't make any sense. Check this out: https://www.lotterypost.com/threads.asp?tp=115269 p=2#i403078(You may have to go back to page 1 of the thread if you have increased your number of posts per page.)The first message says it should be sold there, the very next one says no. The no came after he saw the Democrat's lawsuit, so it's my educated guess that he's a staunch Democrat, putting politics before the love of the game.In my experience, it's good to stand on pri
