Florida's Fantasy 5
I think you're correct and I too think it backfired on them big time. To me the obvious question becomes (provided they want to make as money off the game as they used to) So why not return to one evening draw per day???
These days, if there is one winner in each drawing on any given day, both jackpots total to approximately $155,000 to $160,000. Prior to adding the midday draw, the lone evening drawing produced a $200,000 jackpot. (If just one winner) That can only mean one thing, and that

Powerball jackpot hits $1 billion after building for months
Is $50 to much to spend or u go by ur heart?
It's not too much if you save the money from all the drawings offering less than $1 billion and spend it on the first drawing for $1 billion or more. What happens if it rolls, though? PB only reached $1 billion once this year up until now. The first time there were 4 drawings for $1 billion or more. So far this run has been slower to get the big increases, and based on the most recent worksheet there's a 56% chance it will roll 3 more times*, so

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
[Again] After millions of people threw away $5 on the new game format, I wonder how many of them will come back for more punishment
Including the sales forecast for Tuesday's drawing MM is reporting revenue of a hair over $72 million for the first 3 drawings of the current run. That's 12.5% more than the $64 million in revenue for the first 3 drawings of the last run. That said, it may not be indicative of what we'll see after another few drawings because whenever the jackpot gets to about

New Millionaire for Life multi-state game coming in 2026
The initial knee-jerk reactions are predictable.
When people are actually in the store buying tickets and comparing this to other games they will realize that this is a decent game. There are some states where that may not be true but from Michigan I can tell you it looks good compared to everything else we have.
I don't like waiting years and years for the 6/xx jackpot to get big and the Fantasy 5 here has never been over a Million since it started 20 or 21 years ago. Also in the years

Texas Lottery Commission votes to ban lottery couriers
Worse, the jackpot creeps up by $10 million a draw. We'll get to $1 billion by 2026 at this rate.
MM may have to go back to the $2 dollar rate if it takes that long to reach a billion.
Don't hold your breath. The lottery only cares how much revenue they can generate, and the higher price has basically offset the lower sales. Even if the usual revenue is down a bit they won't care, because they're looking for the revenue that results from the big jackpots. It sounds like we've got some

will you play the new $5 mega millions?
Here is a breakdown of the changes, which may cause some of you to reconsider (especially if you haven't read the Lottery Post article):
Mega Ball 24 - 25 will be removed, making either 24 or 23 total. KRCA says 24. Current odds are 1 in 302 million. The new odds are 1 in 278.369 million according to Lottery Post's article (23 Mega Balls?). KRCA says ~290 million (24 Mega Balls?). For reference, Powerball odds are currently 1 in 292.201 million. The new Mega Millions will be easier to win th

Montana Lottery aims to prohibit bulk purchases after group takes gamble on $1.6 million jackpot
Smaller lottery unexpectedly targeted by purchasing group prompts security discussions
Plans partially foiled by another winner
By Kate Northrop
The Montana Lottery is the latest state to propose rules that would prohibit bulk ticket purchases after an unknown entity bought hundreds of thousands of tickets to scoop a $1.6 million Montana Cash jackpot in May.
One by one, state lotteries across the nation have been taking proactive steps to curb the possibility of organized groups

Powerball lottery tickets go on sale in the UK on July 21
4 or $5.37 (!) for a ticket over here.
Euromillions is only 2.50 with jackpots often approaching 100 million and sometimes over that amount.
Don't expect much interest until a billion dollar jackpot exists.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Fun race to watch. If I'm betting on which one gets caught first, I'd actually lean Powerball purely on cadence - three draws a week vs two means more chances to roll AND more chances to die. Mega's been the slow burner since the format change (1 in 290.5M vs PB's 1 in 292.2M, so basically identical odds per line now), but fewer draws per week means MM jackpots age slower.
The thing I always watch in these races is ticket-sales elasticity - once either one crosses ~$800M the casual money flo
