Florida's Fantasy 5
Chris, First, good luck to you. Sticking for years with a set of personal or lucky numbers has paid off handsomely for some players, although I've read that players that have won a jackpot playing that way have said It took forever for those numbers to come home! You're 20+ years in so hopefully it won't be long and they'll pop. Personally I've been playing the lottery for over 20 years myself. I've never played a specific set of numbers regularly, but to each his own. I'm a transplant

Virginia Lottery Director Khalid R. Jones appointed as Mega Millions Lead Director
The states are constantly leaning on those who run the lotteries to generate more revenue. I'm sure that's what led to them bumping up the cost and odds on the MM. States love it when jackpots are high and millions are pouring in each drawing because people who don't normally play are chasing the billion dollar payouts. I imagine a meeting after the last big jackpot got hit when the weekly revenues dropped back to normal levels. The question is asked how do we change things to get those big

Powerball
I'd be plenty PO'd at myself too. For just one lousy dollar bill more, I could have had two million. I don't wanna be that guy. Then there's this too - When I play PB, I play three identical lines of five numbers. Each line on my ticket will have a different PB (Red Ball) number. The pay out would be six million minus the taxes if I hit only all five white ball numbers. If I happened to have matched the PB too, I'd win the jackpot with the other two lines kicking in an additional 4 million.

Does Lottery Software work?
I aim for the truly impossible goals. I play one ticket for any game. I also use Python to explore ideas, and to back test. The challenges when restricting yourself to one combo mean you surely do not win as much, but I am at the lowest budget possible. I am fully aware that playing more tickets is the only way to slightly bend the odds in my favor, but I am cheap. I have more fun coding in Python than actually playing. It can be frustrating when trying to determine the next combo, even

MM $5, PB $2, Powerplay $1I
None of the other games charge $5 to pretend to be something they are not! Would it make you happy if pick 3 was $5 and had a $1,000,000,000,000 annuity jackpot that had 50 quintillion to 1 odds of hitting and paid the annuity out at a dime a year for ten trillion years? and a second prize of $10,000,000 with 672 trillion to 1 odds of hitting? I'm sure the state lottery commissions would love to have you as a customer on that ticket too! It looks to me like you are not c

Does Lottery Software work?
No paid software can give you better odds than just playing a QP (and I am not a fan of QPs). No free software either. They can display statistics in a chosen range just fine, but if you think about it, if these programs worked, they would stop offering the games. From the perspective of an avid hobbyist who likes to code, none of my many attempts worked either (outside of a rare coincidental hit here and there)... I have been at this (on and off) for over 20 years. No matter how fancy the

mathematics of re-playing small wins
I did my analysis on scratch-off tickets because most of the prize money goes towards lower prizes. With jackpot accumulation draw games such as Powerball, not much goes to lower prizes. To summarize my first post, for the $5 Colorado scratch-off $100,000 Super Bonus, the average number of tickets played is 2.5x or 3x your original bankroll, depending on whether your stop point is $500 or $1,000. Not surprisingly, the improved odds of winning a large prize exactly correlate with the average

Couple tests Quick Picks vs. chosen numbers theory and winds up with favorable result By Kate Northrop A Kentucky couple won a $225,000 Cash Ball 225 lottery prize using a set of sweet and sentimental numbers near and dear to them. A retired couple won a $225,000 prize in Cash Ball 225, a lottery game local to Kentucky, after picking up the game a year ago. The husband-and-wife pair, who wished to remain anonymous, will purchase three plays on their tickets. The first set is thei
