Massachusetts store clerk indicted after stealing lottery ticket worth $3 million from customer
I usually use a kiosk machine to purchase tickets and wouldn't even know if I had extra tickets until I checked them. And even then if the tickets were for the same game I played, I wouldn't know for sure which of those tickets someone else bought. Having never cashed a $1 million plus ticket, I don't know what questions the people validating the ticket ask; maybe someone that actually won that large a prize could tell us. Nunes and Reddem raised a red flag when they were arguing in the lobb

Florida man wins $1 million prize after being cut in line for lottery tickets
Karma doesn't get any better than this By Kate Northrop A Florida man won $1 million in the Florida Lottery after another customer cut in front of him in the line to buy lottery tickets. Stephen Munoz Espinoza, 43, had a tough day and was looking for a bit of luck, but when it seemed that there was just one more thing (or person) getting in his way, his luck changed for the better. To round out his day, Munoz Espinoza made a stop at the Publix grocery store on Northeast 5th Avenu

Quickpicks Powerball: Lottery Post vs Terminal
Interesting idea. I don't buy enough tickets to do that study. Another thing I wonder about is have there been Power Ball or Mega Millions winner of jackpots from vending machines, and have any won huge jackpots (say, over $100 million) with a vending machine ticket? I don't think this is something you tested but if you have seen any threads/messages about this topic, can you post a link? On July 29, 2022, my daughter-in-law sold a Mega Millions 5-out-of-5 winning ticket in the supermark

Connecticut Lottery launches new system, players unable to check tickets
Players and retailers vent frustrations By Kate Northrop On Sunday, the Connecticut Lottery launched a new statewide retail system that was years in the making, but the change has left some players and retailers frustrated. All 2,900 Connecticut Lottery retailers have officially been updated with a new statewide lottery system, but not everyone is finding the transition seamless. On May 21, 2023, the Lottery did away with its older Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) system, wh

California man asks clerk to choose a lottery game for him, ends up picking out a ticket worth $10M
It is one of the reasons I always fill out cards to play. I do not want to feel obligated to some convenience store clerk because he happened to push a button at the right time on a lottery machine. A millisecond makes all the difference when you ask for a quick pic. I never do scratches but I would recommend asking for a particular ticket rather than have it chosen for me. These clerks look like you are asking them to perform heart surgery if you want something out of the ordinary from them to

No More Self Pick Play Slips Accepted
Once in a while a payslip reader machine will not read one of my, mostly perfectly, printed playslips... And the clerk will want to hand it back... I find it interesting that most clerks don't know that, here in Missouri, the playslip reader can read a payslip from 4 different directions... So, I ask the clerk to rotate the ticket, low and behold, the playslip gets read correctly... I even ran across a clerk that did not believe, nor would try to rotate the payslip... I had to ask for the manage

Colorado Lottery Vending Machines Now Require ID Scanned
I'm a regular lottery player and have been living in Colorado for a little while now. I still have my Oregon ID card (state issued ID, not a drivers license). I don't drive so I haven't been in a hurry to get a Colorado ID since my Oregon ID doesn't expire for almost 10 years. Anyway, I found out today while trying to buy lottery tickets at my usual vending machine (at Safeway) that they now require you to scan your state issued ID in order to use the vending machine. It scans in the same pl
