South Dakota trust claims $78 million Lotto Texas jackpot days before it expires
The more research I read on these debt asset protection trusts, the less I like them, at least for me. When you place assets in an irrevocable Debt Asset Protection Trust (APT), you generally give up direct ownership and control over those assets to a third-party trustee to shield them from creditors. While you lose direct control, you can still structure the trust to benefit from the assets and dictate how they are managed through a trust. These trusts are also IRREVOCABLE so you canno

Secrets of a lottery lawyer-Kurt Panouses interview
Could you explain a double blind trust to me? No such thing and especially in terms of anonymity. The states that allow anonymity or other options for claiming are listed in a topic pinned in the Jackpot forum. A blind trust is a different entity. It is used primarily by people with financial assets that could place them in a conflict of interest with their job duties. I am sure President Trump has one and his children likely manage it. With a blind trust, someone else controls and mana

Who are you going to tell after you win the monday's powerball jackpot.
Jade, I wish I could remember where I read that it's possible for an LLC to release a big lottery winners name etc, but I can't. And I know next to nothing about state laws as they relate to LLC's in your neck of the woods. I've also read that The State of Delaware is the place where a big lottery winner can request an LLC because Delaware has laws that say they can never ever release the name of the owner of an LLC. (Or something to that effect anyway) In Florida it seems that the

If you won the jackpot, what lawyer would you trust the most?
Jason did have a red flag right off the bat. He looked sketchy. On YouTube there is an interview with him about three years before his arrest and a Poster commented, Jason looks like a snake. I wouldn't trust him with my lottery winnings. The Poster came back tthree years later and said Jason's just been arrested for embezzling over 107 millions. I knew three years ago that he looked like a snake and I wouldn't trust him with my lottery winnings. My gut feeling about him was 100 percent spot on.

Secrets of a lottery lawyer-Kurt Panouses interview
It might be worth it if I found someone who could figure out a way to claim it anonymously. There will always be some minimum fee, but regardless of what type of advice you get or how good is it what justifies a fee that's 10 times the minimum if you were to win ten times as much? How about winning a billion? I'm just a tad skeptical that he'd have to do 10 times as much work. I expect that some of the supposed justification is doing ongoing work, but just how much do you want him to do bey

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
As far as I know, you'd have to set up a double blind trust fund through a lawyer in order to stay anonymous. When you look through lists of winners, you see that some are claimed to an LLC. These are the people that had a double blind trust claim the winnings on their behalf in order to stay anonymous.
