So how about a quick life lesson here? Who am I to talk ,just an older man who's ready to retire after 40 years doing the same job but these numbers keep me occupied on so many mornings even on my vacation I get up,I get a coffee and I come to the park for an hour, what a great place to figure out some numbers of course it's keeping the mind active always trying to figure out an angle and I've been doing it for years and like I said if you know me and my style of playing the game , it has kept m

The $29.95 Non-Believerz
Stats and the Mountain of Tickets Stats sat alone in a weathered old chair, With losing lotto slips piled high everywhere. No job to attend and no paycheck in sight, Yet he checked every drawing from morning till night. He had stacks in the kitchen, stacks under the bed, Stacks on the table where he rested his head. Each ticket a promise, each number a dream, Though the jackpots kept flowing downstream. Impossible odds? Stats would loudly proclaim. No, somebody'

US Powerball multi-state lottery game expanding to the UK
Man, I could write a book on this one. So I'll keep it brief... How do you expect the prize pool to grow faster when you're adding 20% more players ??? (Not really- see next item.) UK players will reject this based on the ticket cost and taxable (US portion) jackpots. This is just a test market to see if Powerball can sell a $5+ ticket ( 4= $5.44 US). Why in your own back yard when you can do it in someone else's? MegaMillions is paying the price of greed and Powerball is next.

New Hampshire Lottery launches $30 scratch-off ticket offering record $3 million top prize
Well put ..... For thirty dollars I can buy 10 to 15 powerball tickets for a cash value of 9 mil or six tickets of megamillions for a cash value of around 22 mil. Of course, it's a lot harder to win than the scratcher but that's another thing. Have a shaggy day! ShagE3 PS On another topic, tho lottery related .... What's with Ark and Del twice winning multistate mega lottery jackpots as of recent memory?

Impact of "Free Money" on Lottery Spending
During the Covid Era and the ensuing Stimulus Checks, there was arguments that the free money was driving lottery sales and the massive jackpots that we saw. Fast forward 2026 - with the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and the Tax incentives - no taxes on over time and tips etc, and with the Tax season almost coming to an end, are we likely to see increased spending on the lottery from the Tax Refunds ? It's the first time in 3 years that I have had a tax refund, I am always paying extra taxe

It looks as if the $5.00 MM ticket is doing poorly.
It took 40 draws, 5 months, to generate an annuity jackpot still sub billion. This is the longest series of rollovers ever recorded for Mega Millions. The Texas lottery, using an estimated sales figures translated into what are presumably Poisson distribution calculations, indicated that the probability of forty rollovers was less than 35%. It follows if one does simple math that more than 40 rollovers would be required to reach annuity jackpots over a billion dollars, and thus is unlik

Winner of $877,800 Idaho Cash jackpot is infamous bulk buyer
When you buy a ticket for a progressive jackpot game, you have no right to receive a refund of the progressive jackpot contribution. Anyone who expects to get their lost money back should never play this game. The entire point of the game is that your ticket price includes a contribution to the jackpot which will go to the winner. Whether it's your neighbor or an out-of-state visitor is irrelevant. If the state lottery doesn't want someone to win a progressive jackpot who didn't buy any

Arkansas lottery winner of $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot comes forward
Congrats to the lucky winner. You know I've been thinking lately ..... in your estimation considering all factors: MM $5 .... Tues/Fri vs PB $2 to $3 .... Mon Wed Sat how much of a lead in jackpot would MM need for PB NOT to eventually match and surpass that jackpot and go on to a mega like Castro/Cal? I know I am not making my thoughts clear so let me put it this way: last night PB was 209 mil ..... and Fridays MM is 266 mil. For arguments sake let's say no one won pb last night .... an

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I don't think it's because of the third drawing in a week. People tend to buy lottery tickets on a per-week basis, not a per-drawing basis. I suspect that many people who were buying multiple tickets for the Wednesday and Saturday drawings stuck with the same weekly expenditure or maybe added one more ticket. A lot of other players were probably the ones that have to have their chance, even if it's only one ticket, so that's a lot of people that started spending 50% more. Whatever the
