Around this time one year ago, the Texas Lottery's Lotto Texas jackpot was bursting at the seams, boasting the game's third-largest prize ever at a mouthwatering $95 million. One New Jersey-based group gamed the odds to win the jackpot.
Following a seven-month period without a winner, the Lotto Texas jackpot had ballooned to $95 million for the drawing on April 22, 2023, the game's largest in over 12 years.

I am so confused by this. It takes the California lottery from October 16 2023 to March 29 2024 (165 days) to verify the winner and collect the money to give the winner their payment ?
I have never heard of this before even with previous major jackpot winners in other states and California. I can understand keeping the privacy for lottery winners. But I don t like the lack of transparency from the lottery and generic answers or talking around the question.
