Your pet peeve is misguided. The number of winner(s) won't be officially known until the winning ticket is redeemed. Pool winners sometimes jump out and start bragging, but it could be months before the lottery will issue an official announcement. Don't know why you would expect anyone in LP to know initially if there was more than one winner. But, who really cares? It wasn't me. Time to move on to the next jackpot.
