Lottery petition attacks computerized drawings
A popular lottery Internet Web site is opposing a controversial industry trend head-on, in an attempt to eliminate computer-generated drawings from all US lottery games.Among the 41 states and the District of Columbia offering lottery games to the public, there are approximately 175 different lottery games. In almost every one of those games the player selects three or more numbers, and those numbers are compared against numbers randomly selected by the state lottery to determine who is the win

"Taping" in advance & Conspiracy Theories
Jonathan,Everything you say is just great, up until your point about computerized lottery drawings. There is no comparison there.People who oppose computerized drawings are NOT the same bunch who think the entire lottery is a conspiracy. People who oppose computerized drawings are a majority of players, and we include experts in the field of computers (such as myself). We know that there are many good reasons for completely eliminating computers from the drawings, and keeping traditional mech

N.C. resident speaks out against computerized lottery drawings
Editor: The following letter appeared in the News Observer (Raleigh, N.C.) this morning, November 23, 2005. The Lottery Post staff urges other North Carolina residents to do as this bright woman did, and speak out on this important issue. Computerized lottery drawings not problem-free
I posted some comments on the Arkansas News site that originally posted this story, so I'll repeat my comments here: It is too bad that the Arkansas News interviewed several representatives of state lotteries, yet failed to contact the person who wrote the original editorial and is keeping this issue of computerized drawings in the forefront. By not contacting me, the Arkansas News has established the issue as a rather troubling one, but then did nothing but chip away at that concept

MUSL issues report about computerized drawing failures in Arizona
One machine was broken, the other generated 'apparently valid results' By Todd Northrop The Arizona Lottery released the report last month from the Multi-State Lottery Association's (MUSL) investigation of a computerized drawing malfunction that caused the same winning numbers to be generated in successive drawings. When lottery drawings are discussed or envisioned by members of the public, one imagines a spinning drum of numbered balls from which the lucky winning numbers are drawn. I
