Wealth accumulation
Exactly. Have that plan by the time you collect, made with the advice of financial experts. They can tell you how much to expect in earnings off your win and help with a budget. You have to determine your life expectancy and how much if any do you want to leave your family when you pass, along with what inheritance taxes will take from that or how to avoid inheritance taxes. I've already decided that unless I have $10m in the bank after taxes, setting myself up with new house car, and gift

Retired NY principal claims $326M lottery jackpot
Congrats to the lucky winners! That's a lot of money. I would definitely donate a percentage to charity. My family wouldn't have any financial hardships. Even the Bible says a good man leaves an inheritance!

Do you get mad when others win the lottery?
No kidding, right? I'm usually happy for the winners. But I get annoyed when someone like 84 year old Gloria win $300 MILLION AFTER taxes. The only person who makes out in cases like that are their kids who get a very nice inheritance and Uncle Sam when collecting a death tax!

Would you still??
Question: If person who won big sum in lottery ended up being deceased prior to receiving the win, does the sum go to his relatives as inheritance? it's not like they can claim they won this lottery, because video camera recorded the deceased person buying the ticket... Did such thing ever even happen in history of lottery? if not, then may be buying lottery tickets is preventative of death, because everyone wants to survive until the results and see... :)

Would you quit your JOB if you won the lottery!
I'd quit the day job but give 2 weeks notice. During those 2 weeks, I would tell an office busy body not to tell anyone but I received a huge inheritance from a long lost relative.

Do you think you deserve to win when you see people that throw it away
We all say, if I won, I would invest it, I wouldn't waste it etc... I would like to believe I would be constructive with any win. However, people do change when they get sudden riches, from a lottery win or inheritance. If and when I win, I hope I will still keep my feet on the ground.

CASTING CALL: Looking for Lottery Winners for TLC's hit series "Lottery Changed My Life"
My question is why are they going to keep the title of the series Lottery Changed My Life when they want to also include people who came into sudden money through other means like the casino, a raffle, an inheritance, or a lawsuit? I think a more appropriate title in that case would be, How a Windfall Changed My Life.

Woman scammed out of $400,000 pursuing lottery-sized fortune
It is sad to think people actually believe this stuff and send money. If I had a lost relative or something else promising me money, I would just tell them to deduct whatever expenses from my inheritance. Whatever I receive is more than I initially had, haha!

Lottery Taxes
Yeah also the dreadful 50% estate tax, or inheritance tax? That is another thing I can't stand about the IRS, you won the money so you should be able to spend or give as much of it to whoever you want. They are just mad and greedy and don't want anyone else getting the money but them. How can they take 50% of what they already taxed at 35%?!
