If you dreamed of being dead yourself, it indicates an approaching release from all your worries and/or a recovery from illness. If you spoke with someone who is dead, you could soon hear very good news. To dream of a death often signifies news of a birth. To be aware of a dead person you cannot identify portends an inheritance which may not be personal but could be indirectly beneficial.

Using Win To Start a Business
Since my houses are my inheritance, I want to get the fair market value for them. Most all of the investors here who have looked at 1 house have all wanted to buy dirt cheap and I will not sell to them dirt cheap. The investors want to make a profit and they forget that I want to make a profit also since that is my inheritance. I will wait and get the fair market value. I do have 1 house rented currently. So I will be stuck here until the housing market gets better, which will probably be aft

Book imagines low-IQ man winning $12 million in Washington lottery
You don't have to be slow to be cheated. My grandfather inherited a meat packing business and his mother had him sign it over to her by claiming he had to sign a form to receive the inheritance. By all accounts, she was rotten to the core.

Legally avoid the gift tax?
Someone is going to shoulder the tax burden--why not give enough that will cover taxes. After a certain level, the Gift Tax is 46%, same as Inheritance Tax for anything over $1,000,000 (Lifetime Umbrella Exclusion) per person Liferime ($2.000,000 perperson lifetime if the gifting is done by a married couple), although this may be one of the two or three years that either the Gift Tax or the Inheritance Tax is in abeyance. I DO know that, as the law is currently written, the year 2010 in uni

no more lottery
I doubt I would ever put the lottery out completely, as that is the best financial security and free time to enjoy it, that you will ever come across besides some type of inheritance. Even a dollar a month is better than nothing. People have, and continue to win millions with ONE dollar.

N.J. native wins $38M Calif. Lottery jackpot
Great Story!! I agree with you, Miss NYC, but sometimes I wonder what I would do if I won that kind of money. I am looking for their ages. They could be only 55. Many retirement communities here accept people over 50. They won so much money that knowing their Golden Years are protected must be a very good feeling. They can always take half of the money every year and invest it as Mr. Salek indicated he would. Just the first payment will change their lives dramatically. EDIT:

What would you do if you had the winning lottery ticket BUT.
Even if you claim anonymously, you're family will still find out. They'll see the new house, new car, and all the new expensive stuff you're buying and they know that something like that doesn't happen within such a short period of time unless you've acuired a large sum of money, whether it be by the lottery, inheritance, etc. They don't care how you got the money, just that you got it. If you're going from middle class to upper class, you're family will find out.

The Anonymous Claimant POLL
You made a good point about the blind trust. The lawyer, who is the claimant in such a situation, would be in control and not you. Money does create problems, whether the money is from lottery winnings, inheritance, or even in the entertainment biz. Each person has his/her flaw. That is what makes us human. But it is up to the person to solve the problems.

What would the experts do with a lottery jackpot?
HAPPY SUNDAY UNCLE JIM ....3/12/2006 This is the fst opportunity I've had to read your posting, but let me say, you gave excellent and sound advice. You must have been a CPA, or CFO of a company or Tax Planner in your early years. Just reading thru everything, is for me, somewhat mind boggling. But, it's essential to follow these guidelines to keep from squandering, not only Lottery winnings, but our Salaries as well. Even our small, and medium inheritance from our Parents. My generation,
