One ticket sold in Florida is sole winner of $1.58 billion Mega Millions jackpot
Including duplicate tickets, 57% percent of all the MM combos were sold so based on sales, only one winning ticket was expected. The July 29, 2022 $1.28 Billion jackpot had twice as many tickets sold. It's possible sales for the billion dollar jackpots are down because there is usually only one winning ticket. Both Michigan and Massachusetts discontinued games where when jackpots reached a prize level, the excess money was paid out to secondary prizes. It wasn't the same as having multiple j

$1.25 BILLION: Mega Millions jackpot set to deliver unimaginable wealth
I got lucky. I found a pool buying tickets for the Friday Mega Millions draw that let me join. Now I am really looking forward to the draw. We never have jackpots this large in Canada. On the other hand, even though our jackpots are smaller, we get to keep all the money - no taxes on lottery wins.

Florida Fantasy-5 Players
I wonder if The Florida Lottery is seeing and thinking the same thing I am??? The dollar amounts of the evening jackpots being won are slowly trending downward. They were averaging $141,000 but lately they're all in the $130,000 range.... There can be only one reason for that - a lack of player interest in the game. Of course the midday jackpots continue to be the same, hit or miss, with rolldowns a common occurrence. G5

Why Are Lottery Jackpots So Ginormous? By: Patric Kiger
It's no problem for the lotteries because most people don't pay attention and they don't realize that nobody ever wins. It can be years and years between jackpots awarded in many areas. I gave up playing the Mega Million for the most part unless the jackpot is $700 million cash and that's not because of the cash it's because if I am going to lose it might as well be for the big bux. I am tired of building up the pots for someone else and was not complaining about the old matrix. Th

Florida Fantasy-5 Players
Not a bad idea/suggestion at all. Last night we saw one winner for $151,800, and a week ago last night we had the biggest evening jackpot since the two drawings a day format began of $159,400. Gone forever are the days of $200,000+ jackpots. Just like you, I'm not playing FF5 very much these days. I hardly ever missed playing on a Friday night because that was the night where the jackpots were the biggest, but I didn't bother to play yesterday. It's really a shame what they've done to this g

So if the Florida Lottery's plan by introducing a second drawing per day was to entice more players to buy more tickets, why aren't jackpots for the evening drawing higher than they are? Remember too that there is a win $25 instantly promotion happening. They're offering an incentive to players to get them to buy more tickets but still cant get more FF5 ticket sales! The majority of players are doing exactly what I do. They wait until after the midday drawing and then buy their FF5 tic

Florida Lottery Fantasy Five going to twice a day--will you still play?
Agreed that there will be plenty of midday drawings and also evening draws that there wont be a jackpot winner. That's what happened in New York's 5/39 game, Take5, when The New York Lottery went to two Take5 draws per day. I expect that when there is a jackpot winner, the larger amount will appear in the evening drawing. The midday draw sales window has the overnight hours in it when ticket sales will be low. At about 6 AM ticket sales will probably increase but there are only six hours until 1

Florida Fantasy-5 Players
I keep posting about what happened in New York with Take5 like there is some kind of direct correlation between Take5 and FF5, but there really isnt one. Take5 is a 5/39 game with 575,757 to 1 odds to win lousy jackpots. FF5 is a 5/36 game with great odds (376,992 to 1) to win a darn good jackpot. That tells me that players in Florida know a good thing when they see it. So maybe players in Florida will very loudly tell The Florida Lottery what they really think about the implementation of a

The ever increasingly inflated jackpot prizes for MM and PB
I suppose states could advertise the cash value jackpot, but someone will complain about after tax cash value or the after back child support, back taxes, etc cash value too. How about the most I can collect jackpot if I wisely invest my 30 annuity payments? When states first started drawing lotto type games with rolling jackpots, most of the payoffs were annuities. For instance a $1 million jackpot was paid by 20 payments of $50,000. Not sure if the PB and MM jackpots always gave a cash opt
