Should a winning system be posted on the LP?
Through legislation, some states are requiring their lotteries to return 35% of their sales to the general fund. To do it, those lotteries will have to cut expenses, reduce the prize fund, or both. What they don't understand is that by reducing the prizes the total sales will drop. They will get the 35%, but the total could be much less than what they received from the 30% or less in the past. Which is better, 20% of $1 billion in sales or 35% of $500 million in sales?

Study in Prediction for Jeff's "R" State.
Thanks Lantern! You know, it is absolutely insane the amount of money and combinations you play here with nothing back. Its at a point where I can actually predict what type of combo based on what I play.(ie. 4,6,12, and 24 way). Again, they have it down to a tea. There is nothing random about it! The odds DO NOT happen. Talking to people, most are disgusted with this and see it. It just continues. My God, the payouts are absolutely ridiculous. How can they even display them they are so bad. Unt

Pi and the Lottery.
Well, here's something: Alabama Changes the Value of Pi TheApril 1998 issue of the New Mexicans for Science and Reason newslettercontained an article claiming that the Alabama state legislature hadvoted to change the value of the mathematical constant pi from 3.14159to the 'Biblical value' of 3.0. Before long the article had made itsway onto the internet, and then it rapidly made its way around theworld, forwarded by people in their email. It only became apparent howfar the article had spr

How to win more lotto for less money.
Absolutely Todd, Our local syndicate once joined an online pools syndicate which shall remain nameless, after participating over a one year period we hit (1x5/6,3x4/6, 16x3/6's) , the reduced returns are not even worth mentioning. Worse still the high capital outlay by each syndicate member did not help. I(we) are of the camp that online pools syndicate should be better regulated by government national and international lottery regulators with effective legislation. There is no protection

Can't beat the state P3 Odds but maybe
Just some new form of good old Greed usually works! Maybe a particular state attempting to increase their own sales, and experimenting around with different rules and payouts will start it by accident. A financially strapped State desperately attempting to save their lottery and increase ticket sales. Pressure from the voters or politicians trying to get elected. Pressure to change existing legislation. A libertarian could beat a socialist one day and clear all the runways. Apparently, st

Should a winning system be posted on the LP?
Would an innocuous reply from a lottery official prompt YOU to initiate a Poll Thread about WINNING lottery systems? I would if they asked me to post the poll in exchange for an official State Lottery tee shirt and ball cap! Would YOU refuse to reveal what the lottery official said to you? Only if they asked about my day job . JKING has been really vocal about the PB pari-mutual payoffs so it's possible someone from the Cali Lottery wanted to explain it was decided through legisl

How to win more lotto for less money.
The above depends on the lottery rules(legislation) one is participating and individuals preferences. Nearly all lotteries follow a parimutuel payout system or parimutuel system combined with a fixed payout for the lowest category prize. On average across the board 45%-55% of the draw ticket sales is allocated to most prize funds. The rest of the sales is divided among good causes, government taxes, retailers in commissions, and towards operating costs for the lottery corporations.CASH only
