Del. bettors can wager up to $3K in sports lottery
The Delaware sports betting lottery starting this week will allow gamblers to plunk down a couple of bucks, or a few thousand, on NFL teams, officials said Tuesday. Minimum wagers in the new lottery, which starts Thursday, will be $2. The maximum wager, depending on the type of bet, will be $3,000. For each wager, bettors must pick the correct outcomes of at least three NFL games, called parlay bets, or as many as 12. A federal appeals court ruled that the lottery must be restricted to

A rank amateur takes on the stars in poker’s world championship
Chris Moneymaker had plenty on his mind a new mortgage, serious credit card debt and a newborn daughter. But at the moment, he was concentrating on the beefy Costa Rican across the poker table from him. Humberto Brenes had just deposited four neat stacks of blue thousand-dollar chips in the middle of the green felt.Raise, $70,000.Moneymaker studied him again through his sunglasses. Brenes was one of the best no-limit Texas Hold 'em players in the world. Moneymaker was a rank amateur who'd never

Kelly T. Gee appointed Executive Director of Virginia Lottery
Soon KY will have six 'casinos' with what they call HRM...Horse Racing Machines. Took me some time to warm up to them but folks win more it seems than Caesars across the river. Nobody seems to care that they are based on old horse races to circumvent the law in KY against 'casinos'. We will have two in Louisville. WDRB interviewed me about three months ago outside Derby City Gaming because the family council is dead set against Sports wagering which naturally the repubs voted against muc

New Hampshire wins appeal; Wire Act does not apply to lotteries
By Kate Northrop The New Hampshire Lottery has prevailed against the US Department of Justice when a federal court ruled Wednesday that the Wire Act does not apply to lotteries, cementing the legality of participating in the state lottery over the Internet. In August of 2019, the US Department of Justice (DoJ) filed a notice of appeal following the decision by the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire to find in favor of the New Hampshire Lottery in the long-awaite

Appeal almost inevitable in Wire Act reinterpretation case, expert says
The Wire Act (placing of interstate bets or wagers on any sporting event or contest) passed in 1961 was aimed at organized crime. At that time there was no Internet or any legal gambling outside of Nevada. In 2011 the Justice Department limited the scope of the Act to interstate sports wagering. In other words a person physically in NY couldn't place a bet on the Yankees using an Internet Nevada sports book, but they could legally gamble within state borders. The KY legislators keep proposin

West Virginia Lottery has a new director
I'm not aware of why Mr. Larrick stepped down. It's pretty clear the casinos will be running the sports book and not the WVA Lottery so why would Larrick resign over that? And what is the relationship between a PB winner, Larrick, a new director, sports betting and anything in this article?

Largest-ever UK Lotto jackpot has players... angry?
I am a big fan of the UK Lottery. It has raised billions of pounds for good causes , which is why the lottery was set up. The London Olympics, which was great success with the UK ranking 3rd with 65 medals, was funded with lottery revenue. British athletes benefited from lottery sports funding. The lottery funds community projects, including sports facilities, across the UK.

NY attorney general says that DraftKings and FanDuel constitute illegal gambling
Who here (especially on this site) can't see that its illegal gambling? And who here on this site is okay with those two sites being able to get away with supposed fantasy sports betting when its illegal to play daily numbers, lotto, mega etc. (all the things this site here is dedicated to) across state lines? And for the few states that even are on board with online waging you have to physically be in that particular state to be able to play? Sheesh. If I wanted to donate my money to NY's numbe

Wisconsin Lottery to hold Green Bay Packers raffle
I guess there's a market for these kinds of promotions for sports fans but personally I'd rather have the money and if I want to go to all the road games and stay in nice hotels and get chauffered around I can. They've had promotions for the Titans in Tennessee and some of the prizes were sports paraphernalia from the team and I just have no interest in buying a ticket for a chance on some junk with the team name on it. I hope they do well on the Packer promotion but I'd never buy anything

Ohio plans new video lottery game this summer
Basically it's a Keno game that has a drawing every 4 or 5 minutes and many states already have them. The plan is to put them into sports bars and restaurants that already have lottery terminals or have enough traffic to support the game. Sports bars have a large number of monitors that show a variety of sporting events and they will probably replace the badminton channel with the Keno drawings. Some stores have areas where people can play scratch-offs and they might add Keno, but I doubt gro
