The Hills were excited when they won $5,000 from the Georgia Lottery. But excited doesn't begin to cover how they felt one week later, when they won again this time a $1 million prize. I was really ecstatic about the $5,000, Hill said, but then, boom! When I got this one I was just like, 'Wow, I can't believe this. My life is going to change for the better.' Virginia man wins 11 times in one lottery drawing
James Peterson of Hampton, Virginia, doesn't make it a habit to buy so many tickets when he plays the Virginia Lottery's Cash 5 game, but he made an exception last Saturday. I just had a feeling, he later said. He purchased 11 tickets for the Dec 13 drawing and he also purchased one ticket each for his two sons. All 13 tickets contained the same five numbers: 10-13-18-23-30. Each ticket won $100,000. Peterson's winnings came to $1.1 million. He purchased the tickets at three differe

Critics renew call for lottery inquiry
Critics say a public inquiry into the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. is long overdue after police revealed they had no evidence to charge a former retailer who won 167 prizes worth $1.2 million over a nine-year period. There is a stink there, New Democrat justice critic Peter Kormos said yesterday, insisting a forensic audit of past winners first promised by lottery officials June 3 and again this week is not enough. It's not about the one retailer. It's about what has been going on
