How did you manage to afford that one?

If I may quote you from some previous threads.

"I don't have a home computer. I go to the liberry."

"I access Lottery Post from the liberry."

"I go to the liberry to get on the internet."

No offense, but if you do not have Internet access at home, maybe purchasing a new car should not have been at the top of your priorities list.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

be sure not to end up like jack whitaker, its sad that the biggest jackpot winner ever is a disgrace to the game with deaths, overdoses, jail time, etc.

True wealth is not in the things you can buy, it is how long you can go without working for a living.  Now obviously, you'd want a decent place to live, good car, nice TV, vacation trips, a few other things. But whatever I bought I would keep in mind that whatever I bought today was reducing my true wealth for the future.  I would really only be a winner if I could avoid a real job.

You are absolutely correct.  I wouldn't want to go on a spending spree because that would reduce what I have to live on from now on.  I'd basically want to not have to work anymore and pursue the things I want to do.

If I won a huge jackpot tomorrow, I most likely wouldn't buy a new car, since the one I have is only 2 years old, but I would pay it and my wife's car off.  If I did want a new car, it probably would be something like a Taurus, a Crown Victoria, or maybe a Hyundai Sonata.  Nice cars to drive around in, but not as attention drawing as a Cadillac, Lexus or Mercedes.

I'd probably pay the house off I have, then look for a new place to live.  Along the lines you mention, places like New York City, Dallas, Atlanta, etc. wouldn't be on the list because cost of living is high in those areas.  I'd like to live in a smaller community.  I'd probably stay in my state(Louisiana), mainly because taxes are much lower here than in much of the rest of the country.  MSNBC recently ranked Louisiana residents as being 43rd in the portion of their income paid in federal, state, and local taxes(CT was 1 and NY was 2).

I just want to live a quiet life, in a quiet place, amongst quiet people.

Too bad Connecticut has high state taxes-I'd rather live in CT than NY.

Try Louisiana! We have lower taxes and a nicer climate. Mississippi ranked even lower in taxes than Louisiana did!
