If this were my site and i was running a prediction board everybody would be limited to no more than 10 bets for each game. The idea that some members can post up to 50 bets per game is just not realistic. people arent playing 50 numbers per game but they can post 50 numbers to see if they get lucky enough to win. If everybody were only allowed to pick 10 picks per draw then that would be a level playing field. I cant compete with 10 picks against someone who posts 50 picks on a day to day basis. The person picking 50 numbers per game has a greater advantage over my 10 picks. And i'm not saying this because paid members are privledged. I'm saying this because it's not an equal advantage. Even if i were a paid member i wouldn't post more picks than i would normally play.

Gosh if people were allowed to they would post all 1000 pick 3's and all 10000 pick4's. Of cource this ain't my site and Todd can do whatever he wants.

As a standard member (free - 10 posts/game/day) I've been on some of the charts several times. The charts compare hits with the number of predictions and money spent so that levels the field. If anything, the person that have the fewest predictions has an advantage on the charts because his wins count more when compared to his number of predictions. As a standard none paying member of this forum, I can't complain about the additional privileges given to members who are willing to support this site with some money.

        RJOh

RJOH i'm not complaining about anything and i quite well understand how the stats pages work. As an example fast eddie was able to catch up to me in two months with his picks when he was posting 50 numbers. Grant it we were both hitting the same states almost but because he had the ability to post 40 more numbers than me he was able to hit in more states on a regular basis. I haven't checked latley but BobP and i were neck and neck for the longest while then he stopped posting numbers. I'm not saying any of this because i am in competition with anyone but just comparing posters whom have the same or about the same dollar amount spent as i have. I clearly would show better averages if i were standing in the same line as people whom only were posting 10 picks each for pick 3 and 4 games. About the only way my above all average would be in line with other posters would be for me to up my subscription and post more numbers. But i'm not going to post more than ten numbers either way. So i guess i'll crawl back to my corner now and hope i hit a lot of straights or that my 10 picks hit in multiple states evey week.

Well, I hate to disagree with you so much lately, but I do sometimes play more than 10 numbers -- sometimes 20 or 30 -- so posting more than 10 is very realistic. Also, posting predictions is often not done to match exactly with what you would PLAY. Some people post more picks than they would play, because they are posting a POOL of likely numbers, that others can choose from.

Fast Eddie's ability to catch up to you with 50 picks is a testament to his abilities, and is not some unfair advantage. RJOh is exactly right about it being much HARDER to get good stats as you post more picks.

Lastly, I do not think that any one person corners the market on good vs. bad strategies, so why not offer more CHOICES to people, rather than to say that "everyone is limited to 10 picks". Why is 10 picks good? Why not 5? 1?

Bottom line is that 50 is a great number for many reasons, and I may actually raise that number for Platinum members.

Let me see if i can splain myself better. When you first started the prediction pages everyone was on the same playing field. Right! we were all able to post ten picks per game. Correct. So on a day to day basis if everyone who posts every day posted 10 picks every day for pick3/4 for one month. At the end of that month everything would show who did what when and where.

Now lets say i post 10 picks you post 20 someone else post 30 someone else post 40 someone else posts fifty. Now we are all posting different numbers by different i don't mean were not posting the same numbers but that we aren't posting duplicate numbers 123 321 312 etc. The person posting 50 numbers has more chances of getting more hits than a person posting 10 or 20 numbers. on a day to day month by month basis.

Don't get me wrong i ain't complaining but it's not an even playing field in comparison stastically. If everybody can post different amounts of numbers. That would be like saying that a 20 million dollar ball player can get 6 strikes before he is out at home plate then a 2 million dollar ball player who can only get three strikes before he is out.

This is your site so if you want people to be able to post different amounts i ain't gonna complain. Thats your progative. You set the amounts and i'm dealing with it the best i can.  For ethical reasons the numbers i post i play for the most part. For the midday draw. After the midday draw i realign what i'm gonna play in the evening.

If i were to suggest any changes it would be the ability to post different numbers for midday and evening.

          RaiDeR,

I wrote the software, so I don't need to figure it out!

The Deflate tools don't really require any legnthy time to "figure out".  They are very simple.  You just type or paste the numbers into the input area, set whatever filters you want, then click the button.

Really, the instructions are very self-explanitory.  Like I said, after you read the instructions, let me know if there is anything that is not clear.

If you don't read the the instructions, I'm not sure I can be of any more help.

For what it is worth, I think this site is pretty awesome. I just joined a few days ago but have been on here quite a bit in those few days. I like Todd's idea of adding a filter for strait onlys if someone wanted to see something like that. Since I play most of my picks boxed or comboed it wouldn't make much difference to me but I know that some people do go for the straits. As for someone who posts 50 picks as opposed to 10 picks, heres how I view that. Back in the day of Maybell's there was this one user who posted 50 picks a day and hit about 5 or 6 times a week. Now there is no way I am going to play 50 combinations but I used his 50 numbers as my first filter and then I filtered down to about 10 picks. I would win about twice a week. Not too shabby I thought. I figured the main reason for the predictions page was to help other players out if you were doing pretty well. I am using two numbers I got from my kids right now and that is all I will post until either one of them falls or the end of the week, which ever comes first. (Though I did post 10 picks the first two days, just some numbers I picked off the top of my head) I figure if one of my two numbers falls my stats would be much better than someone who posted 50 numbers and had one fall. Just my little thoughts. -Bonnie

It doesn't matter how many picks you post or play, your stats will be on a level playing ground of any other poster posting any amount of picks.

There is only one winning number per draw and every other pick is a loser.  If you post 50 picks and get a winner, you are also accounted for 49 losers.  It's a completely level playing field no matter how many picks you post because it is based on wins/losses prize ratio percentages.

If you're looking for who hits straights more often, compare the prize ratio to the hit ratio.  Many straight hitters are not high in the hit ratio standings and many box hitters are not high on the prize ratio list.

I think it's a completely fair and accurate system as it stands...hypothetically, dollar for dollar.  I don't see the big number posters doing any better than the small number posters on the stats pages.  In fact I think it's the opposite.

Posted 4/6:  IL Pick 3 midday and evening until they hit:  555, 347 (str8).

hold the phone if a poster posts 10 picks for 2 draws every day thats 140 picks per week times how many states there are that covers the all states predictions.

If a poster posts 50 picks per draw 7 days a week thats like 700 picks. Times how many all states. No way a person that has 10 picks per draw  opposed to 50 picks per draw is on an even playing field. And even playing field is when each poster has the ability to post the same amount of picks.

If i were to post 50 picks per draw for 7 days thats like 1/3 the numbers in the pick 3 game. From the 220 chart i could win a drawing practically every draw in half the states in the hypethitical challenge. just by rotating about 25 numbers for eadh day and keeping the 25 for one day then switching the 25 for a new set of the 220 list. i coud probably do even better. i havent taken the time to see if some poster are doing this because i had a problem copying and posting some posters pick to excel to see if that is what they were doing.

Don't get me wrong i don't care about or if people can have 10 picks or 100 picks. Just please don't say it a fair deal.  When you play darts do you get three chances to hit the board with 3 darts or some special rule that says you can throw 9 darts to my 3.

I'm adding this additional infor i found to be disconcerning if a poster was to post say 50 picks the same number say 111 and hit in tri states that day. This posters hit ratio and dollar value are going to make it look like they are supper cool high stakes lottery number picker. When if fact they just got lucky for one draw. It would appear when searching for a poster that is good that this person was teriffic lottery picker. If i didn't check these things out every day i wouldn't know who was or not actually doing good. The stastical stats should only regester one hit per state and not all 50 if a person was to post the same number 50 times for a given draw and hit.

however again that's the way it's set up and i just might take advantage of this loop hole when i become a card carrying member.

                        four4me,

Rick is absolutely correct in what he said.  It is a totally level playing field, no matter how many picks you make.

Posting predictions is just like playing the lottery for real.  If you think that someone who plays $100 a day on Pick 3 is going to do better in the long term than someone who plays $10 per day on the same game then you don't understand the odds.

However, like all forms of gambling, someone who bets more is usually going to either lose more or gain more.  Have you ever explored those principles in a casino?

If you really think that someone who posts 50 numbers a day has an unfair advantage, then I am willing to make a bet with you:

You upgrade your membership to Platinum for one month, and if you post 50 picks a day and do better on your hit ratio than you're doing right now, then I'll reimburse your membership for the month.

I gonna pull out my calculator and do some state by state drawing figures. If a person utilizes the 220 chart and inputs the right numbers he/she should do really good with the 50 numbers per draw. spread out over all states. In fact i'm pretty sure i'll go for it.

                            four4me,

I think after you use your calculator you will see that Todd is correct (but I'm sure he would like you to upgrade!).  If someone posts 50 numbers for all states, certainly they will show a lot of hits on the prediction page, but they also had to post a lot of numbers to get them, so the playing field is really level.
