Coin Toss made me post this.  I think they're fixed, what do you all think?  Can anyone prove me wrong?

Well shoot, the first one should be maybe.  Yeesh.

Actually, wizardsheep told me she doesn't play because she thinks they're fixed, so I said bounce it off the people here.

(She also thinks the Mossad is on her case, so just humor her)

I know how to create polls, I simply pasted over something.  Hopefully this thread will be deleted by Todd.

Are some lotteries fixed?  I didn't know they were broken.  Stooges

I'm not sure they are actually fixed, but I often wonder about it.  I certainly hope the drawings are fair and random. In another thread I mentioned that I always question why every Lotto winner in FL has a QP.  The winner of $6M on Sat said in his news release that he was waiting for his finacee to buy groceries and decided to purchase some tickets. So maybe it's just being at the right place at the right time.

The Lotteries don't have to prove that they are NOT fixed!

You have to prove that they are fixed!

In the casinos we had people that swore a game was riged if they lost a $5 bet - we couldn't convince them a casino isn't going to risk its license to beat them out of five bucks.

Defaming Lotteries and Casinos seems to be a popular pasttime for the folks that loose.

This isn't related to gambling, but I've said the same thing when people make comments about McDonald's.  I'm not a big fast food fan, but a multi-billion $$$ corporation isn't going to add horse meat or other products to their burgers to save a little money.  They also don't add soy or worms.  Once someone actually proves a business is cheating the public, it will go broke. If lottery is truly fixed and just one person can show absolute proof, nobody will continue to play - at least I won't!

Remeber that scene inn one of those Chevy Chase vacation movies where he goes into the 'other' casino and puts a bet down, and the dealer says, "Pick a number", and then he picks a number and the dealer takes the bet and says, "Wrong."?

                    I gues that's some people's perception.

People in the business of gambling don't have ot fix things, the games are hard enough...

Well, ok, maybe horse racing, football and boxing is questionable.......definitley boxing!

Lottomike, were the indiana lottery numbers being rigged? I guess it's possible and probably wouldn't be that difficult..even using balls. Wasn't there also a lottery director in some state who killed himself in the last year? (can't remember which state).

I'd like to think though there is some chance of winning (maybe I'm a sucker). I think it's just incredibly difficult. I've been playing the P3 game for the last 6 months or so and it's not that easy to get a straight...and that's 1000 to 1 odds...think about lotto - the odds are much greater.

Just to illustrate how hard it is to win a jackpot game, go to a lottery website and then goto the page where you can type in numbers to see if they won. Then enter numbers to see if you can match a winning set. You'll be there a long time before you get a complete match.

Has anyone seen the movie "Lucky Numbers"? with John Travolta. Apparently this was based on a true event of someone trying to rig the Pennsylvania lottery,I believe.
