Once again a complete $hitty set of numbers as we have a 0-0-1-4 format with 4 odd & 1 even. No way this is hit from player picks. However I could easily see it being hit via FP or QP.
5 JP winners, 4 with Player picks and 1 QP.
I dont get it. What's so special about 4 numbers in the thirties??? What would possess someone to pick a set of numbers like that? And they arent "birthday numbers" because all but one is greater than 31!
The only thing I can think of is the people playing numbers like these are playing tons of lines (wheeling?) and play sets of lines like the above on a regular basis.

Haha we posted at the same time.
The results just baffle me as I figured 1-2 winners tops but to have 5 with 80% being picked seems so illogical. If somoene offered me those numbers as a free ticket, I wouldn't have taken it.

I am not one of the five winners but I sometimes play the 35 37 39 combination in p5 if the 3579 number set is strong to me. also do the same with the 357 as 33 35 and 37. The 11 19 in mega is another example if I like the 1119 as a play in p4. Transferring numbers between p3, p4 and the other games is sometimes lucrative. As a disclaimer, I spend no time studying take 5 patterns so I may not be the best to provide any understanding of this!

Now I know this is a Take5 forum, but I gotta digress a little cuz I done hammered The Ball last nite!
I had 38 for the PowerBall, and dont you know it, the good ole Red Ball itself was 38! Naturally, I had the Power Play goin on, so with that 4X kicker bangin' in, I bagged me 12 bucks!
You dont ever want to play PB without addin' on The Power Play. Take it from somebody who has first hand experience with that!!! Now if I just had a few more numbers along with that 38,....oh boy!!

While I was at work this morning, I showed a buddy of mine my winning PB ticket and told him I was going out at lunchtime to cash that sucker in. There's a Hess station right up the road from work, so that's where I figured I go.
My buddy then says, "They sold a million dollar scratch-off winner in there last week." I hadnt heard that, so I was a little surprised.
So out I go at lunchtime to The Hess station. I get my 12 bucks from The PB ticket, and I asked the clerk about the million dollar winner. He says, "It was sold out of the vending machine on August 2nd." I asked if it was someone local. He says; "She works here!" I said, "Oh yeah? I bet she aint gonna be workin here much longer." He says; "She has no plans to quit."
Now it's about 3:30 PM, and a woman I work with see's me and says; "Hey! Did you hear about the woman that won the million bucks at The Hess station?" I said I had just heard about it this morning, and that I was there at lunchtime to cash in a winning PB ticket. I told her that I asked about it while I was there, and that I was told that the woman who won is still working there. My co-worker says "Well something changed between lunchtime and now, because they fired her!" My co-worker said that she was told that the people who own The Hess station dont feel she should have bought tickets out of a machine where she worked.
I dunno... sounds kinda hokey to me.... I think she had every right to buy out of that machine.

That is just stupid to fire her because it's good advertising for that store!

I agree.... I have to believe there's been an uptick in lottery sales in the store, it's gotta be good for the stores overall business. It's a gas station/convenience store, open all day and night on a busy 6 lane highway.

I think that most of us who post here know the obvious things about Take5. For instance, we all know that it's a good idea to play 3odd/2 even. That's because there's 194,940 3odd/2even possible combo's out of a total of 575,757 possible combo's. It's a little less for 2/odd, 3/even, it's 184,110 out of 575,757.
While that kind of thing is definitely good to know, it seems to me that it's kind of simplistic, or maybe a better way of saying it is to say it's almost obvious. I've never purchased a lottery software package (like for instance Gail Howards) but I would think that software might have things built into that can detect things that are a little more sophisticated and no so easily seen. I'm wondering if the software can spot patterns or trends that arent so readily seen by the average player. I guess if it did, there'd be one helluva lot of lotto millionaires walking around than there currently are. That's why I'm not prone to spend any money on lottery software.
But what are some other things to look for, besides simplistic 3odd/2even? Things that arent so obvious to the naked eye, yet if you look hard enough at past drawings, you'll see something. Anybody know of anything?

I have to say I am very surprised that we had no winners last night. Perhaps the somewhat normalcy of the results threw players for a loop. I ended up getting a bunch of FP's even though overall I had 4 of the 5 numbers on my ticket. This has been happening a lot to me lately. I am hoping it is a sign of a jackpot around the corner!
A $hitty set of numbers with a 2-1-2-0 format & 4 of the 5 being even. Even with that, I could see it being hit via player picks with it being all dates if not by FP or QP.

I think they fired her because of jealousy. There's no law saying a cleark can't play lottery. Even if she didn't buy the ticket from that machine and some other ones across the street she would still get fired, for not buying ticket in house, lol.

Hi GiveFive,
I've been checking out this thread for some time now but didn't chime in but since you posed the question above I thought I've give it a shot. I'm originally from NY and have played Take-5 since it began ... I've also been using Gail Howard's software and it is very good at showing patterns and trends that you wouldn't readily spot with the naked eye (I've posted in other threads about using this software). You could also do the same using Excel if you are very good with it, but I've found that her software already did what I had been trying to do in Excel but much faster.
There are some numbers that tend to play with certain other numbers more often (ex. 22-34, 28-34, 8-26, 13-16, etc.) and there are times when the extreme opposites will occur right behind each other (ex. an "all odd" draw, then shortly an "all even", all high then all low) ... also check for how many times a number will play after 1, 2, or 3 skips, which ones tend to repeat in the next draw and so on. These are just a few of the things that help in narrowing down which numbers to play that charting in Excel or using some lottery software will show. Ultimately you still have to "pick" which ones to pool together ... but knowing what to look for when certain things happen will help.
As a side note, and this is just my personal opinion, but NY's take-5 behavior was much more "predictable" and the payouts were better when the drawing was live and televised, not just flashed on the screen as is done now ...

Good luck.
Thanks Fiesty.
What you described is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. I'm sort of handy with Excel, but I wouldnt say I'm "very good" with it. I know Excel has a lot more power/functionality to it, but I dont really put the pedal to the metal with it.
I'm not too keen on buying lottery software. I know it's certainly capable of pointing out the not so obvious things that you talked about, and I think you nailed it when you said it'll tell you about them much faster than Excel will. But still, the burden is on the player to pick the right numbers at the correct time. I think that's what is hanging me up about buying software.
As far as Take5 payouts go, they're definitely down, and I dont know if it's the overall economy, or because it isnt televised or what! Actually, depending on where you're located in the state, the drawing is televised. In the NYC metro area, Eyewitness News (ABC - Channel 7) used to televise it, but no more. They shoved the drawing over onto their website, (7online.com) where it can be seen live, but there have been nights when it doesnt happen. I used to stay up and catch The Eleven o'clock News to see the drawing, but no more. I never cared for their news anchors, but they had the drawing, so I watched channel 7.
