I don't think I could handle that kind of loss at one time. Did you buy all of these from the same location on the same roll? If so, that sucks they not giving even the minimum back.
Someone here mentioned the codes awhile back, specifically "NEW". I have noticed as well when I get that code, the trail of dry, consecutive, losing tickets seems to be pretty lengthy, whether it's a $1, $20, or $25.
The other night I couldn't sleep so I went out to try again.
Bought 1 100X Ticket from Kangaroo SW Williston & 75. It was a $25 even.
Bought 1 100X Ticket from the other roll at the same location. It was a $40 winner.
(+15)
Unfortunately, I didn't know that tickets couldn't be turned in until 6am so I had to pile them up.
Went to the other Kangaroo on the opposite corner and got another 100X tick. It was another $40 Winner.
(+30)
Then I went to the Kangaroo on 34th between Williston Rd and Archer. Got 1 100X Ticket and it was a $30 Winner.
(+35).
So 4/4 on winners. Wondered why I couldn't have this much luck last week when 7/8 from different locations were all losers. But still only up a little more than 1 ticket so even when you win, it's doesn't seem like a whole lot.
Then I went to the Valero Kangaroo on Archer/I-75. I picked up another 1 100X ticket #012. I started scratching the winning numbers first like I always do. Then when I got to the play area, I noticed something. Marks in the play area had been scratched. Nothing in the serial number area or revealing any numbers, but it had been clear someone had scrached a few blank areas. Why? My heart sank as I realized that this would be a loser. Didn't bother to play another one at that location and walked out. (+10)
On to the other Valero Kangaroo at Archer/75th. Got 1 100X and it was a loser. Got another and it was for $25. Got one from the other roll and it was also a $25 even winner. (-15)
Headed for the Chevron on Archer/122st. Got 1 100X ticket and it was a $30 winner.
So after scratching 9 100X Tickets, 7 were winners, and yet I found myself still down $10? Well that sucks.
By then it was getting to be 6 AM, so I tried one more location, the Shell at 75/Archer. I think what helped before was that places I had won before I had visited again and avoided places that I lost consecutively. For some reason, I think this place is lucky when it almost always turns out to not be. I got 1 100X Ticket #027. It was a loser with the code "NEW". And now I was starting to get nervous. Do I play on? That code always terrifies me because like others, I have seen dry spells of epic proportions when "NEW" appears. I played #028. Loser. #029 Loser #30 Loser. #31-32 Losers. Ouch. I cashed in my tickets from before, including the $30 from the only winner I had last week and put the money back in the play account. I had enough chasing. I couldn't believe they'd throw 6+ straight losers on a $25 ticket.
Does anybody have an example of a losing ticket with the code "NEW" and immediately thereafter have a winning ticket (any amount?)
Also, last December when I bought 248 of 300 on a $1 roll, I worked on some analysis with the losing codes. I noticed with code FEY that a winner will be closer.
