Thanks james i think the new york lottery is a scam or i have the worst luck as many rolls as i buy isnt it atleast sad to say that i havent won 500 bucks that is sad

you should try Gold Rush in fla the odds for $500 are 1 in 174

im going to play about seven $10 tickets in NJ today, because i have a few extra bucks to spend. the ones i always go for are the $700,000 top prize, because its never "annuity" if you win it. theres about 1 out of 3 remaining and the 2 games are pretty old, so who knows. the only good thing about NJ ticks are that the website updates exactly how many tickets are outstanding and how many winners left for the THREE top prizes, not just the top prize.

    the funny thing is this.

if you win a $1million dollar scratch off in NJ, which costs $20 (the cash blast), you get $650,000 cash by refusing annuity, then you get taxed $225k or so, and are left with $425,000.

if you win a $700,000 scratch off, which costs only $10 (golden 7's etc), you get $700,000 cash, theres no annuity, and you get taxed the same, leaving you with around $450,000.

so you can see my point, ironically the $10 ticket jackpot leaves you with more money by winning $700k than by winning $1mil on the $20 ticket. cheaper ticket, and more money lol.

i saw some guy win $1million, and hes left with 410,000 or something i had to laugh. what kind of lottery leaves you with 40% of the top prize, when they already take 35% of all sales to begin with.

its absurd what they do. so i will not play things like that unless i know <snip> well im not going to be ripped the hell off if im lucky enough to win.

if you ask me, what they do is nothing more than legalized theft. its bad enough they take 35% and make the game an instant loser for anyone that doesnt win a jackpot. but if you DO win a jackpot and are super lucky, they rip you off for 60% overnight.

it wouldnt be so bad if they just taxed you 25-35%, but what kills you is that they put in the controversial advertising jackpots as annuity, which ironically, breaks most state law because when you choose cash the lottery doesnt distribute their mandated 65% back to players by law.

heck maybe the mafia runs it lol.

but in any event thats why its really paramount to only choose "cash" advertised scratch off games, because the annuities are really just scams. by the 25th year payment the 50k would be worth like 5k.

I noticed the win for life spectacular ticket changed colors--its purple now. Does anyone know if this is a new batch with more prizes?

I'm about to stop by the store to get a ticket. From now on i'm buying one ticket $5-$20 a day from now until the end of august and will pay close attention to losses and profits. Any profit will be kept in my wallet and any break evens will get reinvested. I'm also scratching it at home on purpose to stay away from chasing winners ...

Funny, it just changed upstate - it's now green. We've had the purple tickets for months now.

lol nice, wasn't aware of that ..

I bought a $10 set for life tonight and lost it was #48

I'll try to post my results with 1 ticket/day when I get back from work. I plan on getting the new $5 big bucks ticket tomorrow, it looks like they reduced the odds big time on middle prizes. Hopefully I can finally get that $500 winner ...

not sure about the color, i think ive always had the purple one, but the 3-digit number on the back at the start of the serial number if that is the same then its the same batch.

yeah scratching at home is a good plan i do that usually, buy in a day or two next time if i win.

i bought eight $10 nj ones yestarday, lost on all eight, so im going to probably buy a few more today then quit. Havent been to NY to buy any, but probably in a week i'll take my changes on a few more $30/yr for lifes.

hah i bought only 4 more NJ $10 ones and hit $130 total, so break even now at least. will buy few more tommorrow but yeah when i go to new york in a week or so I usually buy around 5-6 of the $30 win million/yr for life.

i still think the state lottos are just frankly the worst odds gambles you could ever make, given they keep at least 35% (more like 50% if you include their BS "annuity" terms on top prizes)..

casinos keep only like 10% avg.

ultimately, i just keep is modest. few tickets a week no more..

thanks for the good luck wishes, best of luck to you to.

so i was in nyc today decided to give it one last shot at scratch offs i got a roll of $10 make me rich, then 10x $30 million a year for life then 10x $20 win for life spectacular. i got back only $555 bucks yes the ny lottery sucks ...

funny thing though while i was at the store some guy actaully won $500 on a $5 ticket cant remember the name i bet the odds were 1 in 30,000 lol. they also had a copy of a $1 million winner hanging in the store $5 ticket # 99 i thought that was cool. you often hear first or last ticket on the roll wins the jackpot ...
