Snagged these two single purchases from my lucky late night mobile gas station down the street. Nothing big, but I'll take it.

Hopefully my pictures posted right since this is my first time uploading from my phone!

I bought 4 tickets, 2 from 2 separate rolls yesterday. I watched a guy play from number 3 to 10 with only winning $25 once. He then played the other roll from 5 to 12 with no hit at all. I bought two from each roll and hit $30 and $ 400 twice

Turned around and bought 2 $20 gold rush and won another 100.  Maybe the winners have finally arrived in Jacksonville! !

I save all of my losing scratchers, in the event that some day I hit a big jackpot, then I can use the losers to help with my tax return.  I just counted my losing Cascading Cash losers and I have 56.  I think they should rename that scratcher to Cascading Crap.  The most I have won on them is $10.

That's what I do!  I learned that when I won big in 2011... I had a big black trash bag full of lovers that I was able to file on my taxes as a deduction!   Even counted my lotto cash 3 and play 4 tickets!

                          Awesome wins!

Do you itemize on your tax return instead of taking the standard deduction? Reason I ask is that unless you itemize your deductions, these lottery wins

                          do nothing for you.

Now, lets say you have tens of thousands of dollars worth of losing scratchers, you do hit a big winner AND you are eligible to itemize

your deductions on your tax return. In that event, the trash bags full of lotto scratchers will allow you to "offset" an amount of losses

equal to no more than the sum of your total winnings.

Yes, that year I did itemize and that's exactly what happened.  Won 250,000,  had nearly 12,000 in losing tickets, had purchased my home for the first time etc so I was able to itemize

I got out the military that same year so had a nice severance plus the winnings and my husband's income so we banked over 300,000 that year. Glad we were able to use the losing tickets, I have to double check my tax return but I think we got dollar for dollar the tax break

After taking a week off from the new $25 scratcher I purchased 6, off 3 different rolls.  1 loser, the other 5 I won either $25 or $30 on each.  Broke even for the day.
