I understand everything but, what rules are you using to select your sets?
I use the mirrors as much as possible and allow the computer to generate a random digit to replace identical base/back digits. Still trying to determine why it misses like Texas Cash5 last night.
The base/back digits are 4 7 4 7 0. The mirrors come up 9 4 9 2 5. The computer generated a new base number for the first 7 (4), but neither of the 9s. I'm working on why it does that. My best guess is it did generate a new digit (9) and compared it to the original back digits 4 7 4 7 0 and let it go since it did not equal the 4 7 4 7 0 set.
Overall that is not a bad thing like Frankie and I talked about the other day and where it was shown we could generate a complete 20 number set with multiple duplicates with no dupes in the combos.
The only reason I don't like doing that is it limits the numbers in play.
Since this is a 37 number game we can't use (mirror) + 30. (9) + 30 = 39. We're out of the matrix. Here I've used the conditional statement If (mirror) < 8 then (new mirror) = (mirror) + 30 else (new mirror) = (mirror) + 28. This ensures we don't go beyond 37 (9 + 28 = 37).
Generating the sets use Dim a(20).
Then sort a(0) smallest to a(19) largest.
Code for the sets looks like this:
a(0), a(4), a(8), a(12), a(16)
a(1), a(5), a(9), a(13), a(17)
a(2), a(6), a(10), a(14), a(18)
a(3), a(7), a(11), a(15), a(19)
The works because you would have to have 5 of the same number to have dupes in any set. Impossible using Frankie's method with this cheat.
Another method, as Frankie mentioned, would be comparing each number in these combos and adding 1 to the higher/latter of the dupes. Two ways you could do that. 1) Compare the sorted set and make your changes there, or.....
Below where you have generated your combos, the code would read:
if a(0) = a(4) then a(4) = a(4) + 1
and you would do this for each side by side number in each combo.
Hope this answers your questions. It's all the same as Frankie showed in the original post, with the complication of having the computer understand what you are asking.
My greatest accomplishment is teaching cats about Vienna Sausage. When I need a friend, all I need do is walk outside, pop open a can, and every little critter in the neighborhood drops by to say "Hi!"
