LANSING, Mich. — For a Michigan woman, her dreams really do come true.
The 56-year-old woman told lottery officials that her motivation to play Fantasy 5 on Apr. 8 came from a dream she had the night before where she won the jackpot.
"I woke up Sunday morning after having a dream about winning a Fantasy 5 jackpot," said the player, who chose to remain anonymous. "I got dressed, got in my car, and drove to my favorite store to buy a couple tickets."
After stopping at the Moravian Liquor Shoppe, located at 35906 Utica Road in Clinton Township to play an easy pick for the drawing that night, she went home. Later on, she decided to take a look at what the numbers for that evening's drawing.
"I looked at my phone Sunday night and saw the jackpot had reset, I remember thinking: 'I hope it was me,'" said the player. "When I woke up the next morning I checked my ticket and screamed: 'Thank you Jesus!'"
The woman matched all five numbers drawn — 4, 13, 14, 29, and 35 — to win a jackpot worth $221,202. She visited Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing Tuesday to claim her prize.
She plans on using the money to pay bills and invest in her fragrance business. But she also says she plans on being back in lottery offices soon, because she has dreams of a bigger prize.
"I always pay attention to my dreams. I've been dreaming about winning the Powerball jackpot too, so you all will be seeing me again real soon," the player said.
I have not dreamed about jackpots games but always dream about P. 3&4 all the time.
keep on dreaming.
happy dreaming winning and spending to you?
Dd
Is that you Cynthia Stafford????? Lol
I hope she does have more dreams. She will be able to pay her bills and invest in her fragrance business.
She has daydreams and night dreams.
Well with all the players the odds are that this would happen to somebody.
I had a dream once that I won $3000 on a scratcher from a particular store about 15 years ago and that never happened.
About 5 years ago I had a dream that I won $1,000,000 on a scratcher from a specific vending machine and that never happened either.
How many other people must have had a dream that they won something and then the dream didn't hit?
Congrats Ms. Anonymous! Good luck at Powerball!
So the numbers didn't come to her in the dream, but she was prompted by the dream of winning to go buy Fantasy Five tickets. It says she went that morning to buy "a couple tickets". Next paragraph says she bought "an easy pick". Not exactly clear if the winning ticket was a QP or one of her regular number sets, but either way, the dream was right on time. If only my luck was that good!
The article says the winning numbers were 4-13-14-29-35, and there is a picture of an easy pick ticket with the numbers 4-13-14-29-35.
So it's pretty clear the winning ticket was an easy pick ticket with those numbers.
Thanks rcbbuckeye, I was so focused on the wording that I missed that crucial detail! Duh!
At first, I thought this was another case of somebody dreaming the winning jackpot numbers, but seems more like a case of optimal timing!
Hmmmmmmmm ??? I have a question
Lets look at the story and the physical evidence shall we ??
She woke up Sunday morning, got dressed, got in her car and drove to her favorite store to get a couple of tickets
Looking at the ticket as posted above:
Looks like a ticket that someone would have with the folds in it. So that looks good
Notice towards the bottom of the ticket where the date is in bold letters then just below it it shows a whole bunch of numbers.......019515 APR08 18 16:13:30 8035200
That 16:13:30 is or should be the time of ticket purchase(just like it is posted up near the top of the ticket)...16:13:30 for those who have not served in the military or been affiliated with agencies that use military time, is actually 4:13 and 30 seconds in the afternoon. So that also looks good
Sounds like she got up and went to the story pretty quickly after getting dressed. Which would lead me to reasonably believe that this happened between 8AM & Noonish
Could the time be off on the lotto machine ? Nehhhh but it Could be
Maybe she works the midnight shift and getting up at 3-4 in the afternoon is her "morning" ? Could be
Maybe she misspoke somewhat about the story? Could be
Just pointing out something unique to the story....No conspiracy theory
I also noticed the time on the ticket not matching the story and just wrote it off to your she mispoke possibility but you raise some good other points. I know I have problems relating events to time. My brain just does not work that way. Anyways I'm not going to lose much sleep over it as I have enough problems getting a good nights sleep and in the end I'm still very happy for her.
Thanks for pointing that out, CDanaT. The wording leaves one with the impression that she acted upon the motivation from the dream without undue delay after getting up that morning. And she may have. But the time stamp would suggest otherwise. It seems like she dilly-dallied around the house for quite some time after waking up and getting dressed before eventually arriving at the liquor store at the auspicious moment in time to buy her ticket. Or maybe she did buy a "couple of tickets" that morning and went back to get another QP (EP) later that afternoon. No telling how many tickets she actually bought that day. But the only one that matters is the winner and she had it! I like to buy one or two F5 tickets at different times throughout day/night myself. Usually all I get is a free ticket. But every once in a while, I pocket a whopping $9 for matching 3 numbers. I prolly just need to lay off the F5 until such a dream comes to me.
Another feel good story, always a good read.
She seems to have head on her shoulders and quite goal oriented. And smartly claimed anonymously.
Maybe she purchased more than just her lottery tickets at that liquor store and the details are all a bit fuzzy.
LOL, the article did say she went to her favorite store to buy the ticket.
Bingo!
Congrats!!!! First of all, why is it that when winners share their story people that lose their money on lottery have to get on here hating???? Be happy for her and anyone else that choose to tell their story!! Negativity will not get you NO WHERE!!! Be positive, and you might get you a WIN... I am happy for anyone that gets a win....we all know that the lottery is not random and if you want to take a chance in winning or losing so be it!!!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lotto-NC
My children have dreamed of pick 3 and pick 4 numbers and I have played them and won more than a few thousand.... So that night she dreamed to go play, she so happened to have luck on her side.... Heck, I just won tickets from NCEL for 6 Nascar races.....and all I did was enter 10 entries in the drawing.....I am a very lucky person and luck has always been on my side. The day you don't see Mr.&Mrs. Lotto-NC on here anymore, you will know we have won our big one!!!! Good luck to you all, haters and losers, winners and go-getters!!!!
Umm, excuse me, but who posted anything here of a negative nature? I must have missed that.
ummmm, if people have to question how, when, why this don't make sense, this don't add up and blah, blah, blah then yes, that's what you call being negative.
I agree!!!
Wrong! I didn't see one single person indicate they were not happy for this lady's win. I stated I wished my luck was as good as hers. Your post making reference to "haters" was the only post made here of a negative nature. There's no prohibition against free speech and speculation over apparent discrepancies.
Sure Ok!!! Just as you were entitled to reply to this story, so was I. Therefore, I must have stepped on your toes. One poster stated, about the liquor store being her favorite store= Negative, one posted about the time stamp on her ticket, we all know the newspaper will make a story sound good so please, I don't plan on going back and forth with you on my freedom of speech and opinion!! Have a wonderful week and happy winnings!!!!
Your example is a bit of a stretch in terms of "negativity". The article itself stated she went to her favorite store which just happened to be a liquor store. You didn't step on my toes, I was just wondering what had you so riled up. I think everything will be okay.
No problem.
Don’t give up on your dreams. You never know, they just may come true!
Scout Motto:Be prepared.
Don't MOST people that buy lottery tickets have a dream of winning?
Isn't that why we buy those tickets every drawing?
So that we can fulfill those dreams!
The answer is YES to all questions MeatMan. What l was doing, has just sending out a gentle reminder, a nudge as it were, the arm around the neck, to other dreamers out there. I don't knows about you, but there are LP members that l used to see, that l don't anymore, perhaps they gave up? In Conclusion: Do you see " the method to my madness" MM?
