There is no better way of picking numbers, it's random.

Great Article Bryan and the authors credits are excellent. The other article is a laugh. A bunch of liberal arts undergrads who have to hire a C.P.A. to do their own taxes. LOL

Huettel is only an assistant professor of psychiatry; Mack just an undergraduate, and McCarthy is a professor in radiology and psychology at a  VA medical center . Oh sure, the best talent I ever received was at the VA hospitals, but not from Dr. Phil the Psychologist! LOL  Mathmatical and Statistical geniuses.  NOT!

You are using a debating tactic called Ad Hominem, attacking the people who wrote the article, instead of the idea. The article was about a specific area of the brain that recognizes patterns. The fact that people see patterns that don't exist is just that, a fact.

People also see patterns where they do exist!

So ,now, lets talk about the value of math  and probability with regard to increasing your chances.  What are your reasons they don't?

My reasons they don't. Simple. Past draws do not affect future draws.

I think I'm beginning to see something that could help in understanding. Perhaps your focus is on just one draw or one dvent. Maybe we need to spread out a little and look at the general proposition that math and probability increase your chances. Let's talk about that perhaps. Hell. No one knows what the next dvent will be. Right? Good. We can stipulate that. Good.

LOL are we making progress yet?

One draw is what you bet on.

No, Thomas ,thats just it I don't bet on just one draw, I bit on many draws overtime and use math averages and probability to increase my chances. Thats exactaly the point. It's not just one time for you are me. We want to win or have a better chance to win over time. Over time is the key and winning more than we lose. Increasing our chances as best we can by using math and probability to do it.

Yes you do bet on one draw. You don't go to the lottery retailer and say " I want to bet $1 that the pick 3 will follow this pattern over a period of time". You bet on 1 draw. You bet that pick 3 will be this number on this draw.

Predicting a certain number on a certain draw is not possible. Predicting a coin flip is not possible. Coin flip has only 2 combinations.

Thomas, count the black dots.Thought you would like to see this. Too bad those guys wasted all that research grant money on expensive equipment. All they needed was some paper and a pencil. This is the cheaper version of their ground breaking research.
